If it is as stated, this is a great guitar for the Buy Now! price. It would be a great opportunity for someone looking at a Celeb or non-USA Ovation to step up to.

great price.. really great price.. and with warranty? I'd confirm that.. think if he's a dealer he might be blowing it out under map.

I could be wrong tho..

but again, great price on that one.

Thanks for the heads up from you more seasoned Ovationeers. If this guy ships to APO, I am on this one. I just sent him a note...

Peace (from Baghdad!).

I bought a "dealer blowout under MAP" on a new '97 Collector's on the bay. Of course, the wild electronics finally caved, but Kim still honored the warranty after I sheepishly sent him the receipt. LOL!

I got a steal, too.

Maybe they think it's a typo, or just too good to be true... if I had the bucks I would 'buy it now' and keep it mint and unplayed for a year or so and could probably resell it for a profit...(if I had the will-power.. :) )

Something I follow is that "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"....and it looks like many other people are as well!!!

I already have a 2005 1771LX-CCB, so no interest here, anyway.

Maybe he just don't like Ovations...so, he's not as patient to be motivated for more profit. His loss is our gain...

I don't really see this as all that great of a deal. It is a used guitar, as it was "purchased for a recording session".. he can say it's New all he wants, and he can claim that you will get the warranty (probably because he didn't fill out the warranty card) but it is a used guitar none-the-less.

I sold my 1771LX for about this price in about this condition.. basically it's the going rate for a used standard balladeer LX. You're not gonna be able to flip this for fun and profit.

dvd,

Thank you for the insight. I'll let you know what condition this one truly is in once I have it. If I can get a "nearly" new guitar for a used price that's OK by me.I have bought a few guitars and amps like that and have been happy. I don't know if this guitar will be the same. But I'll report back whether this guy was honest in his ad.

I don't flip guitars so that won't be an issue. As a matter of fact I usually don't sell or trade guitars until after I 've had them for a few years.

Regards,

Tom

Hi Tom, I posted that before I knew you bought it... the flip comment was directed at somebody further up the thread. Don't get me wrong, it's a great guitar, I think you'll like it.

I'm just saying it's about what a used model in good condition goes for -- we here all know O's are undervalued as a rule. If he's not a dealer, you aren't entitled to the lifetime warranty, whether the warranty card is filled out or not. If he is a dealer, he's selling below MAP.

Not to be a spoil sport but all warranties are to the original purchasor only.

Alot of us buy used O's and therefore do not have any warranty.

I have bought new and hope that I never have to use the warranty. I have bought used and fully understand the risks.

We are blessed however with a manufacturer that will assist us in ways that no other manufacturer will. I have read about the mothership sending parts and spending lots of time supporting us for no charge at all. Not quite a warranty but you can't beat the personal attention.

Get em if like em and damn the torpedos!

Congrats again Doc!

Hey dvd, I take it that would be me. I bought a 97 Collectors below map two years ago from an authorized O dealer. The guitar had been hanging on the wall THAT long and she was not able to move it. Screw MAP in situations like that! I did her a favor, she did me a favor.

So be flip all you want.......

Great song by Alecia Nugent on the "Little Girl, Big Four Lane" cd. Larry Cordell wrote it.

lol, didn't mean to offend. Steve above said he was tempted to buy it and turn around in a year and sell it for a profit.. aka flip it. I was just saying that wouldn't likely pocket him anything.

I'm just an old Hippie, and I ain't used to Warranties anyway.
I just expect it to work when I get it. If it dies at a later time, I'm used to just having to deal with it. Stuff Happens!
This CC44 that I just got came with a Warranty. I think that is damn nice of them. But I don't expect to ever use it.
My other three O's came naked, and two are quite old. They worked when I got 'em. If I break 'em, that's my own damn fault!!

That is a nice lookin' guitar...
