Location: Scotland | Production of the Koa buttons has started and should be available in a few weeks. Stock is limited and these are gonna fly. I will have 10 sets of full-size and 10 mini, possibly more if the wood stock is good enough.
If you need any send me an email or PM with the size you want and I'll reserve a set for you |

Location: Scotland | Koa buttons just landed. They're even better than I expected. They all show some pretty nice flame figure in the grain. Still don't have a final cost. Pics later today. |

How does one go about (safely) removing the stock buttons to put new ones on? |

Take the tension off the pegheads. Grasp the original button and remove the button screws (lefty loosy) to take the buttons off. I use a precision screwdriver.
Reverse the procedure with your handy-dandy and "Oh so sweet Candy" Koa buttons. ;) Don't overtighten.
Then you're golden...wooden...whatever! :p |

Would you believe I never really looked closely enough at the keys to notice there was a screw on the outer edge?

| It's not possible to be stupid enough to be embarrassed on this board.
You've got a long way to go yet. |

I mentioned taking the tension off because if you don't, the shaft for the button can come out of the machine body. An they are a BEAR to get back in! It's a classic do-it-yourself, amateur mistake.
Of course, I'm speaking of someone else's experience. |

Mini:
Now the bad news. They ain't cheap. At what they've cost me to produce they should be around $120 per set. I think that's too much, so I'm doing them at $95 including shipping. There's already 3 or 4 sets of each spoken for, so if you want a set send me an email or PM, they won't last long. |

Location: Tennessee | Very nice! Makes me yearn for a Koa guitar. I have a set of the walnut and the rosewood ... the quality of these are exceptional and prove they are worth what they cost. Waskel needs a set of these for his guitar. ;) |

I'd love a set, but I just don't think I could get this one past the better half. Already bought too much lately... |

Me: Amelia; Florida House Inn attic dorm; 2AM on the 1688-5 to replace the stock gold w/new walnut's from Temp...I was in a hurry, forgot to loosen the tension...talk about learning the hard way.... :o
Finally got 'em together around 3:30am...
So, that was a very good question! |

Wife asked which I would rather do for my birthday - go out for a nice dinner, or buy these Koa buttons (because each would cost about the same).
I told her that once I crap out a nice dinner, it's gone. I'll have the buttons a lifetime. :) |

. . . and the buttons'll have a nice "patina" to 'em.
Now THAT'S "Marketing"!!! |
