Location: NJ | For years. I have been hearing about how the OFC site is not what it can be, how it has major flaws and issues etc.
You get the opportunity to jump in and say it like it is and the majority of the moaners keep quiet.
I give up on this one guys. I offcially give up.
Not having a great week this week, got some negative medical news, e bay shuts down my account, typical family sibling bs......
the least you could have done was taken the time to either wrote down all the stuff I have been hearing for the past 5 years or privately e mail miles about it.
As far as I am concerned nothing was accomplished.
Miles
cliff and I are not the only 2 that ever complained about the photo gallery. that is why there are direction on resizing pictures posted.
IMHO this should be a priority
as for the colors Miles you ARE color blind.
IMHO I really don't care if everyone on earth with a trs 80 or alltair can access the site. I want it to run efficiently fast and service the members best that use it often.
no more from me on this one guys. |

I don't know what others are complaining about, but as for me, I hope you don't change a thing. All I have to say is, thank you. |

Miles request was that people EMAIL him with comments and suggestions. Maybe he got 100's of emails as a result of his post, who knows? I would not jump to the conclusion that just because it was not posted here, that it was not communicated to Miles.
Of course I could be wrong.

My opinion is this: The OFC is what it is. You like it? Fantastic. Have fun. You don't like it? Too bad. Think you can do better? Go start your own forum. |

Around here, even Oprah wouldn't get Oprah-love. But trust me Al, (you've never caught me lyin' yet!) you got the love. ALL of it.
As for family? Do what I did, divorce 'em.
As for health? We're only here 'till we're not.
I been dead twice so far, so it's all borrowed time for me. Catch up if you can.
Where else you gonna get friendship from around the world without forming a cult? (Hey! Idea! :-) |

Yes Al... I know that you have been let down by members who have not behaved when you have asked them nicely and in private. I know you get frustrated when members say one thing and do another. I know that when a member goes off the deep end and starts making trouble the mess tends to land right in your lap.
I also know that there is a sizeable amount OFC related crap that you deal with and we never hear about. These are things that we don't need or want to know about but we know they happen.
I know that myself and others offered to ease your burden in any small way we can. Maybe others have been able to help but I guess there is nothing I could do for you. So, I help out with my little projects and try to be a good OFC citizen and not cause you any problems.
And I know that there are medical and family issues that complicates what you can do here on the board.
That Being Said....
There is A LOT written on this board that should give you JeffW size warm & fuzzies and that you can be very proud of.
The way you handle your business has been given nothing but well deserved praise. You are appreciated for the events that you put together and are thanked again and again. You have been deemed the "best packer of guitars for shipment".
Hell, your face has even graced a tee-shirt that many of us proudly wear.
I'm not saying that there are not times when "we" let you down. I just wanted to point out that there is a flip side that you might not be seeing.
There... I said it. I hope you take the message in the spirit it which it was sent. |

I'm new here also and still more of a JAFO

Sure improvments can be made, I would say vBulletin would be a better format.
But still there is a lot to be said about keeping it simple.
I've seen it happen on other boards, one of which I have been a member of for years.
Then you need moderators, the next thing is it seems to all be about money, you have to pay to be a sponsoring member so you don't see all the ads, Then admin is calling you out for advertising & on & on.
I think just adding a couple of other forums so the general posting isn't so cluttered maybe.
Oh yeah, that thing about "color" this is pretty drab.
Sure wouldn't change much, great group.
just my nickels worth

Anyone on a T-shirt is respected.
Remember, it's never as bad as it seems.
of course, it's never as good as it seems either but when you're feeling down think back to hearing the tone of the little kid's voice when he said "Hey, That's the guy on the shirt!" You can always be a hero to someone. |

The minor suggestions I offered in the 'other' thread pretty much cleaned out my quota.
And I again nominate Brad as an assistant moderator to take some of the heat off you guys.
Miles, tell AussieJames that I said to buy you a drink or 2 (on me) and I'll fix him up when he gets home. :D (You too, Al, if you're going.) |

Dude you said Dude.
Other than that, I have noticed no problems with this site.
Photos of a larger size would be nice, perhaps the trade off should be to limit the size of the galleries to something like no more than 50 photos or ?????
Great site gentleman! Always interesting, usually informative and sometimes quite humorus. I even get to direct my odd sense of humor at people I have never met...hey its fun for me.....
I guess "THANK YOU" is in order

You're broadcasting from Black Mountain now?!?! I love that place! Maryanne purchased a Hammered Dulcimer for me from Song of the Wood. That was about 10 years ago and I still can't play, but the sound of Hammered Dulcimer music still brings tears to my eyes. Gotta make a trip there on the Honda one of these days.
