This has been a very, very tough month personally.

I may need to sell what I consider to be the finest all wood guitar for the money that I've ever played. I know that the likelihood that it will come available again is negligable. But, I need to help my mom financially.

I JUST got this guitar less than two months ago. I can't write enough about the amazing tone and playability of this guitar. All master grade tonewoods: Sitka top and STRAIGHT GRAIN OLD GROWTH BRAZILIAN Rosewood back and sides. I've already sold my other guitar (that was my keeper for years) hoping that I can keep this one, but I may not have a choice.

I don't know if I'm going to have to sell it, but it looks more and more like I will.

Randy from the Big Island will get this guitar first if he's interested because of our history together with this guitar.

I pray that I won't have to sell this guitar, but my prayers are more focused on my mom than material things. I'm sure you all understand.

So, please let me know if you're interested at just_strummin @ yahoo . com and I'll contact you as soon as I know more.

My sale price will be the same that I bought it for. I'm not going to make any money on this guitar, though it is worth so much more than I paid! In fact, I can't think of another guitar that comes close in the price range. Nothing, and I sincerely mean nothing comes close. From what I know, all of these guitars are gone. There may be 80 or so out there, but I highly doubt any owner will sell one unless they are in a similar spot as me. There is absolutely no other reason to sell it. It is by far the best ALL WOOD guitar there is for the money. Period.

Again, I would NEVER sell this guitar if I didn't need to. I'm hoping things turn around, but want to let the group know about it first.

Regards,
Mark

I can attest to the incredible beauty and playability of this guitar. I hope Mark doesn't have to let it go but if he does, someone NEEDS to snap it up.

Mark, sorry to hear your considering this. Tough call. Glad I'm not in your position. Best of luck holding onto it.

Tom, should Mark "have to let it go", I think you would truely love this guitar and it would be a great addition to, not only your Tak collection, but your entire collection. Very rare and incredible instrument.

i sincerely appreciate mark allowing me the first right of refusal on this guitar should he find it necessary to sell it. i have emailed him that as much as i would love to acquire it, i am unable to afford it at this time. i sure hope he finds means to keep it, but if not, may whoever does enjoy a blessing from it.

there are a couple of more floating out there that could become available after this deal goes down, should it go down. They are in captivity so escape is not an option but they are not currently for sale.

Dr. Tom,

I sent you a PM per your request. Please email me because I'm able to view my email at work.

************************************

Everyone else who has expressed interest:

I'm very disappointed and frustrated that I'm going to have to sell this guitar. I know there is a lesson in all of this, but whatever it is I cannot see it at this time.

This is a remarkable instrument and worth double the money. In fact, I would safely say that this guitar will be worth double the money once knowledge of it reaches other guitar enthusiasts on other forums. Anyone on the UMGF that would play this guitar at Nazfest would immediately be on the lookout for one available. I read on a link that only 20 were planned to be shipped to the USA. I do not know if that number was increased (the difference between the J and S at the end of EF-75 may shed light on this fact), but only 80 or so were sold worldwide.

Having owned a Blueridge guitar with Brazilian stumpwood, I can attest that the materials and craftsmanship of this guitar has no equal in its price range. You would have to AT LEAST double the cost for a Martin, though I would not be able to give you a direct comparison between the two because I never played a Brazilian OM-28. BTW, with the amount of abalone, the EF-75 would be comprable to a Martin OM-41 Special (though that guitar doesn't exist unless it was custom ordered from Martin). The maple binding and exquisite hand inlays in the back seam are reminiscent of boutique builders like Mayes and Froggy Bottom. BTW, having owned both of those models, with all due respect to those wonderful guitars, the Tak is simply better. One view into the soundhole reveals the attention to detail on this guitar.

Although I wrote why this guitar is worth so much more, my interest in this guitar was not and is not financial. Rather, it was THE FINAL guitar I bought/sold/traded for. After four years and well over 50 gutiars that passed through my door, this guitar was my permanent keeper. Alas, it cannot be and for that I'll wait for the reason to show itself.

Jokingly we speak of GAS as an incurable disease, but I have not played anything that comes close to this guitar AND IT IS STILL BREAKING IN! In case people are wondering, I have not removed the Takamine cover from the pickguard, and I have not plugged this guitar in to an amp. I've played it using a cover on my arm to ensure that I did not affect the finish.

So, when I write that this guitar was to be my final guitar, I am not exaggerating.

I will send emails out to those who sent emails to me. The sale of the guitar will be based on my receipt of payment. No offense, but I am not interested in a trade of any kind.

Regards,
Mark

Mark, if the condition is temporary, maybe the Adoption Agency could help you out.

Even though it is primarily for Ovations, this might be one that the rules could be bent for.

I hate to see it go away without any chance of it coming back.

Maybe you should try to contact Tony or Noah.

Good luck

Mark,

I hope this situation is temporary and somehow you can manage to keep hold of this fine guitar.

If you do need to sell it, ask $5000. That's what a Martin or Collings would cost, and maybe still not sound as nice. No Taylor at any price could come close. This is an extremely limited edition guitar made of rare brazilian rosewood. Anyone wanting to upgrade to something more high end than Ovation or Adamas need look no farther.

Answers to some questions in posts above:

1. If you need an adoption I'll gladly take it for you. But you may not get it back.

2. I've got Mighty Mike Fugot already covered for a TAK-75, although he's not getting mine.

3. I believe there may be a dealer who has the last remaining TAK-75 known to man.

Mark,

Lady Noah and I are sorry to hear of your situation and hope that it is only temporary.

I sent you an email with my phone numbers, or email me yours and I'll call you. I have not talked to Tony, but this is what the Adoption Agency is all about.

If you don't mind having your EF stroked by the likes of Moody, Fred, Tony, and me...

We're from Chicago. just send us a frozen pizza two-pack (1 cheese, 1 sausage) from Lou Malnati's or Gino's East periodically to hold your guitar.

I have wonderful news! Randy, aka Lanaki, has confirmed that he will purchase this guitar.

As I wrote, he had first right of refusal because of our history with this guitar.

Thank you to everyone who inquired about it, your support and prayers.

Providence is a wonderful thing. Randy reminded me of Proverbs 3:5-6. 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

As difficult as this has been, knowing this guitar is getting into the hands of the person meant to own it makes it much easier to let go.

Regards,
Mark

Or a reasonable facsimile there of. :)

Randy, good to hear this has worked out for you. I really look forward to your take on this fine instrument.

Mark, sorry things worked out this way for you. All things come to he who waits, so I look forward to hearing when you find the next guitar that talks to your soul. And you will find it, I'm sure.
