I noticed the case too; makes me wonder how temp controlled this storage was. Still, the guitar looks amazing...I have always wanted on of these...maybe someday...I am enjoying what I have.

[Don't beat-me-up for this  ]
How were those guitars?
My real question is, What are they underneath the drums & flags?
[During the "Boston 200" days, you could slap a Betsy Ross on anything and double the price!] |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I like them...they play and sound like a legend which is basically what they were...just dressed up a bunch...Pretty cool...not sure why they are listed with the collectors series but anyway, sweet little bowl/box and nice neck. Way cool graphics... |

If you really want one, I bet you could make a deal with those guys. |

Location: Shotley Bridge, Northern England | Although the price seems steep, compared to current UK Ovation list prices this is not necessarily a bad deal. Assuming this guitar is half-way between a Legend and Custom Legend (I think the Patriot has a AAA top, so should sound excellent?); well a Legend here lists at £1299; a CL at £1699. At the current rate of exchange that's about 2400 to 3000 of your Colonial Beer Tokens :D . Not quite the asking price, but almost there. Add the extra value and rarity of the Patriot Model and then you're even closer...
Can't imagine that many of these made it over here when new in 1976. Wonder why?... ;)
Cool graphics Mike? I'd sand them off... :p
Just kidding!

I was trying to sell #001 for $2000 and had no bites so it went back to the factory and is part of that collection now, where it should be.
It's the first limited edition/collectrors type guitar Ovation did.
Cliff really likes it, he's just being disagreeable today.
I have number 76 and that is still available and for a very reasonable 3 figure number. Now if I can just remember where it is....... |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | It sure does look a lot like my Legend Ltd. I used it as my primary guitar for 20+ years and my case has been everywhere, yet still seems to be in better shape than this one. The bubbles are surprising. Los Angeles is neither too wet nor too dry. |
