Adamas I, 1687-7, 1987, serial 4337-93 (93 is the rating).

As I have four, this one is available...
This was the 1st one I bought in 5/04. I had it sent directly from the seller to the factory for a little TLC.

I will bring it to Paul's get together this Sunday. We'll use it in a comparison of the OFC, 47RI, and 1687.

It is in wonderful condition and comes with a 9158-0 case for best offer of $1,925 or over. If you want to save a couple of dollars, I have an excellent SKB is you want to save $50. Sale price doesn't include shipping.

I will bring it to Paul's get together this Sunday. We'll use it in a comparison of the OFC, 47RI, and 1687. Maybe some of the participants will post as to the condition and playability.

Pictures are from the sale BEFORE the factory got it.

If interested, let me know.

I can already state that I've played this guitar. Whoever buys it is getting a great guitar at a wonderful price.

This is a beauty. The -7 is my favorite of all adamas colors. Tony, I'd trade you something for it but you've pretty much got everything I have! It'll find a good home for that price. Dave

OFC # 7 will now be coming to San Diego...now have a group of witnesses concerning the condition and playability of the 1687.

Let me know. If not, will just sell later.

This guitar was played a lot yesterday. A buddy of mine would have loved to have bought it, but he's an astronomer and all his money goes into telescopes....

You suppose they might make all the regulars, then the widenecks? Seems inconsistent with the numbering system, but might make sense from a production standpoint.

You never know how things could happen behind the black curtain ...

At the tour we did see the three (wide) necks that were already done and waiting for bodies. So anyway you sequence them, I don't think they can be all that far done. But it's art, not science.

Tell him that if he'd set his sights a little lower he could become a paparazzi and make a little more cash on the side!

He did have a high level of GAS...one time when he was playing, I said to his wife that he looked like Nick Reynolds (Kingston Trio for the young folk here) when he was playing MTA on his soprano guitar. Enthusiasm, sheer enjoyment.

I'm waiting for the incisions to heal after selling an organ to buy the 1681. That and the bones in my skull to knit after SWMBO beat me senseless when she found out.

I'm gonna have to hide the sharp knives for a while.
I have a few that are close already but this is the exact guitar (except for the two knob electronics) I wanted to try at a dealer back in 79 he wouldn't even take it down for me because he knew I could not afford it. I did have $900 in my pocket that day. Not enough for one of these Adamas's but enough for a lot of other guitars he had that I did not even ask to have taken down because he was an "Ass' to me earlier.
"Prick"
I will finally have the same one I wanted to try that day.
Took me almost 30 years to do it but I won't need permission to play one anymore.

Randy...thanks

Took awhile for Randy and I to actually work out a deal. I know he won't be disappointed.

And thanks to those that expressed a strong interest.

Good get Randy! I wanted this one, but still have a couple of guitars (Non O's) for sale locally. Kinda overloaded at the moment, and the lovely wife just completed a gun class.

If I bought before selling the others I WOULD be used for target practice.

Tony, I will look for your NEXT surplus sale. (If there is one) ;)

Regards, Jim

This one pwns them all:

First variable-geometry wing, first after-burning turbofan, first terrain following radar...without the Aardvark (Pig for you Australians...heh), there wouldn't have been an F-15 or F/A-18. Or, uh, something. :D Besides, the -111 just looks better than the -15. ;)

Wow nice photo's gentlemen...I know if I had one of these much less a squadron attacking my poition I'd be digging in deep and scarred to death! luckily the only position I have is "Ovation Adamas guitars are traditional guitar killers". I don't think they will be sending the fleet to rout me out for that.
