Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Hi Everyone,
I'm getting ready to put 3 of my PF-22 Basses on eBay. These are the the original ones, only a few made, maybe only 10. Natural satin finish. They are essentially identical. Two have the "black" bridge while one has the "aged" bridge and of course the wood grain patterns are obviously different.
For those that don't know, these are probably the best all around basses Ovation ever made. They are set-neck's with that huge 4 coil magnum neck pickup with a single volume and tone control. And of course that fantastic, fully adjustable Magnum bass bridge. The weigh in at about 11lbs which isn't unreasonable and helps make for some amazing sustain.
If you are interested in one of these before I put them up on eBay EMAIL me mileskb at aol.com. Don't be shy about making an offer, you might be very surprised. To me these are just fantastic guitars that need to be played, not stored forever.

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I was starting to do setups today and was testing one through my Eden Bass amp. The pickup placement is perfect. It made me think of the tone of the likes of Chris Squire, John Entwistle, or even Geddy Lee or Michael Anthony. These guitars easily achieve that sometimes elusive balance of full huge bottom end without going muddy, and still being able to hear the notes clearly. That's why I'm keeping the 4th one I have. One of the few basses that I set the bass, mid and treble flat on the amp and just turn up the volume and that's the right setting.
I forgot to mention earlier, they are well balanced too. Not top heavy or bottom heavy, the strap button placement distributes the weight nicely. |

what were you playing all open strings? Well, uh now that you mention it. The opening of "Runn'n with the Devi"l WAS what planted that thought. Big fat juicy open E that goes BOOM instead of Thudgrrr. How's that for describing sounds with words :) |

If somebody doesn't grab these by Friday I'm going to have to add up my bills and give Miles an offer for half down and a free dinner when I drive up to make final payment in Sunny Ledges.
Then I can introduce my wife to 1/2 of the people responsible (can't be me) for my GAS... |

| I picked up one of these from Miles a little while back. GREAT bass in phenomenal condition, now with the bass player in the family (of course, I did not pass on my AEB or Warwick).
Thanks again Miles!! |

I like these basses for the same reason I like a Viper... it's simple. Vol and Tone, plug'n play.
A common setup of a Magnum (at least for me) was/is to select both pickups, mixing in just enough of the bridge pickup to get the clarity. The PF-22 takes care of that by just having the pickup mounted further back. Perfect. |
