| I'm not sure if you'll remember me, but I have bought--and subsequently sold--three 1778Ts. (I would buy one, feel a financial pinch, and then sell it--and then, of course, feel seller's remorse.)
Anyway, I'm back (hope I'm welcome), and I'm looking for a 1778T. If someone has one that they would like to sell at a reasonable price, please let me know.
I can PayPal (I have almost 500 positive feedbacks on eBay), or I can send a money order if you would like to avoid PayPal transaction fees.
I've been considering the purchase of a Celebrity just to get that Ovation sound again, but I think I would be happier--ultimately--if I would allow myself to buy another 1778T.

Location: Boise, Idaho | Welcome back. I agree you'd probably prefer the 1778T. Hold out till you get one. Otherwise, you'll find a good deal on one right after you buy the Celebrity and then you'll be trying to sell the Celebrity and then you won't get the 1778, etc. |

Location: Warren,Pa. | Good to have you back. Get the T with the OpPro...not the Op30. I've noticed Guitar Center/Musicians Friend sells it with the Op30 for the same price as the OpPro-equipped model others have.

In using both the OpPro and the Op30, I didn't notice a serious difference between them. The OpPro obviously has a lot more options, and the ability to use XLR if available is an incredible bonus.
That said, my old 1778T with Op30 was a great stage guitar, and still light-years ahead of most other guitars out there, particularly that Taylor ES (aka "extra sensitive") thing. |

The model with the OP-Pro also has the rest of the LX enhancements.. lighter bowl, better neck system, enhanced pickup, scalloped X bracing, and so on. LX enhancements |

Location: Warren,Pa. | Point #1: If it has a truss rod cover, it's an LX no matter what preamp is in it. Non-LX Elite T's are older models.
Point #2: The Op30 will not be a disappointment to anyone. It's just that if you can get an OpPro for the same money why wouldn't you? It's been my experience that the OpPro NEVER feeds back (why...I don't know) whereas the Op30 does. That's why the Op40 has a notch filter. You could pop out the 30 and pop in a 40 into the same can...but $$$. Also a big bonus is you can add XLR to an OpPro pretty easily if it's not so equipped already (and an Elite T would not be).
I must say that sometimes I prefer the shape of the old K-Bar neck. If you felt the same, then a pre-LX model would be nice. It would have an Op30.
