Location: Wheaton, MD | Hi....I am a newbie here. I am interested in finding a white or blue Breadwinner to start my collection. I have seen many people claim they got theres for $300 to $500, but I have never actually seen a decent one for that price. Maybe it's a case of deflating the price to make the owner seem like a real deal finder. Anyhow...I sure would like to find one in that range! If anyone has one, or even a lead on one, please let me know! My email is: ziplok35@comcast.net My guitar tech (Dave Neely in Hollywood, CA) will review the pics and tell me if the guitar is worth purchasing or not. Thanks for helping me out here, and I hope to join the ranks of Breadwinner owners soon. |

Location: CT | Do you want a decent one? Or one in the 300-500 price range. White ones in good shape sell a bit higher than 500 bucks. There's a beat up white one in Sam Ash on 48th for 800. Blue ones go for much more. I think Miles sold one a recently for over 2k. |

| just sold my Black one for $820 and it was pretty minty...
3-5 range will probably be pretty rough or not all original...
good luck... they are out there... and there's a couple on the bay as of yesterday if I remember correctly.

Location: CT | Went to Sam Ash yesterday. The white Breadwinner is 750, not 800. Still beat up, and the pups were replaced. Played nice though. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | That's about right Woody. I am in a quandary at the moment with a Deacon. I have a red Deacon but it has some cosmetic issues. Some finish cracks on the back, a few nics and dings, but nothing major. Everything including the pre-amp works great although I need to replace a switch on the pre-amp which is no big deal. It's an early one with the nylon saddle bridge, and has Chrome tuners (all chrome) which appear to be original. I'm pretty sure I have a NOS pickguard to replace the current one which has the typical cracking around the output jack.
Unfortunately as a whole guitar, in current shape, I'd be lucky to get $500 for it including the case. But as parts, it would probably be all gone in a couple of weeks and for at least $800.00
If someone wants a nice Deacon, that's very playable as-is, but could use some TLC, $750 and it's yours and I'll even include the replacement switch. (The switch is has works fine, it's just the wrong style stem). Otherwise, out comes the screwdriver, disassemble, and off to eBay it goes. |
