Amen to that Mike! Tip: don't put lit firecrackers in your mouth.

Happy Birthday to U.S.!
Algonac offers up a great fireworks display with a dual purpose of annoying the Canadians across the river.

Happy 4th to all. CasaBobbo is going to have a reunion of sorts ... all five kids will be in the same place at the same for the first time in five years, including my doc daughter (Captain, USA) and my son (Cpl., USMC). God Bless America.

I'm SO looking forward to tomorrow. For one thing, it will be my first day off since April. For another thing, this little town has the best celebration. We start with a 10K road race, then the parade, the community picnic, the duck race on Fall River, the demolition derby, and the best darned fireworks display I've ever seen. I will also be going to a cookout at a friend's house, AND I'll run down to the Flatiron to play Stars and Stripes Forever on my guitar. As far as our servicemen, this is a VA town. We have the number one rated VA hospital in the country, plus the Vet's Home on the other side of town. We do it up big here, and, I hope all of you enjoy it as much as I know I'm going to.

I'm beachin' it (as I do every year) on the SC coast with Mom, SWMBO, my son /his wife /his son, my daughter, my brother, his extended family and many friends.

As Capo guy once reminded me "Life is Good".

Bless the troops and their families and what they afford us!

Be safe and have fun.

Happy 4th to all as well: I just had a little pre-4th fireworks celebration with my two kids: they went right to sleep as soon as I got them back inside and in bed.
Tomorrow is the Firemans 4th Fireworks celebration here in town. Picnic Dinner at the Chief's house and then one of the largest fireworks celebrations around: I know because I drove to Tennessee to get them. Lets just say I'm glad the F-150 made it home without detonation!
Remember the troops and Vets who made it possible and be safe!
God Bless America (and those in the rest of the world too...)

Just got back from the Cooper River park here in NJ - local band called Final Vinyl - excellent cover band, and then Randy Bachman of BTO and the Guess Who and then a very long rainy fireworks display. Yes - we went to see a Canadian on the 4th. He sounded pretty good - pretty true to the originals.

Happy 4th to all!

Firework photos....
I was playing around with the rapid fire shutter setting on the camera and got lucky.

Brad, you're the only person I know who could be 'playing around' with his camera and capture a giant smiley face in the sky...

8 years ago the 4th of July gained meaning for me. My daughter was born. I became a parent for the first time. I was 40. Every year she has the neatest party.
