In case anyone is needing a 1537, here it is. Probably needs a trip to The MotherShip, though.
I will be monitoring the festivities, but expect the bid to exceed my meager coffers reasonably soon. drat. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I saw that one too. It looks like someone used Old English or some other dark stain to try and hide what looks like surface cracks. The stain has wicked under the finish. BUT ... the one crack on going into the lower left binding looks like an actual crack from a fall. I was thinking about the Mothership also, but I'm wondering how much sanding it's gonna' take to get that stuff out. |

| I figured it didn't need an announcement.... doesn't everyone here scour search "Ovation" just about every day on the bay?
I'm definitely in on this one, and see a few friends in as well.... I like the scars, and would probably just make sure it was stable and have it lightly refinished sealed cracks and all...
good luck all.

Do NOT try to stain any of my old beaters to hide the bu-boo's!
But that do look Neat, in an artsy-craftsy sorta way...
Going for the Relic'd look? |

is the Woodford household still on Brown Alert? I have a guitar shaped object I'd like to send your way for lack of room/lack of play as an adoption(and no it's not the Adamas.... Stuart will be receiving that for approval next week.)
wanna babysit an old 1114? it's lonely.

"doesn't everyone here scour search "Ovation" just about every day on the bay?"
"Ovation"
"Ovation (Viper, Preacher, Deacon, Adamas, Elite, Limited, Breadwinner, UK)"
"Project (parts, fix, repair, Luthier, damaged, broke)" |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I gotta take it down someday, but I have an ebay Ovation guitars tab on the top of my Firefox homepage.
Right next to the OFC tab. Check 'em both allatime!
I have taken it down before, thinking "I have twelve guitars, and one on the way"... I've got enough.
Then I put it back up, and lust some-more!
"Hey that's Purdy! And a Good Deal too! Then I'm off and runnin'! |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I check most every day, even though SWMBO imposed a moratorium after the OFC guitar. I only violated it once so far. Still think about Cholloway's Slothead every day, too. Arthur, you need to pace yourself. No more than 2 a day. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Glen, I needed the tuners and the attached mount was pretty unique...I wasn't sure how many were bidding from the OFC...
BTW GGG (Mike W), I currently have 8:
1969 1115
1981 1685-5
1983 1685-8
1988 1688-5
1990 1758-6
1991 1758-1
1966 Fender Villager
1998 Taylor W-65
All are special!
I used to have two late 70's Pacemakers (-1 and -4) and a 1988 Custom Legend 12 (-5). Also 2 Martin D-1228's, Three Guild 12's and 3 Gibson's: 1966 Firebird 12 (Cardinal Red); a 1967 ES-335-12 (sunburst); and a 2006 EDS-1275 (White). The Firebird is now worth a small fortune. Who New...
IMHO Ovation makes the finest 12 string in the World. |

Location: big island | attaboy, glenn. i was watching it just for fun but found myself liking its look just the way it is. there's something about "vintage" and all its connotations. people are paying big buckaroonies these days for that vintage look in material things. wonder why when it comes to their own looks, they want anything but vintage? |
