Has the sale to Fender affected Budny or Keller's positions @ Kaman? I was only there once, they treated me like royalty! Introductions - the tour - I was as impressed by the folks I met as the instruments they produce.
That is not a W597 it's a Q597 - but when it first went public it was sans the 597. They weren't available for more than a few months, then all gone. Now there's a Q597 on the market that looks like all 597's with the epulets & soundholes. Seems an attempt to cash in on the prerelease Q publicity.
Are there Q protos sill in CT? I'd love to see one. I never realized that so few with the hollow neck were made. Ever see the Popular Science story on them? It's here:

By the way, these production wavy holed Q's (I'd love to know how many wavy hole ones were made) are outstanding instruments. When they were no longer available the regular looking 597's emerged as Q's. I wonder... does that mean it has Q style braces or what? What makes them Q's? |
