Location: Knoxville, TN | I bought my Standard Strat (USA) back in the '80's when Fender tried to save $$ by using only one tone control and putting the output jack on the pickguard where the second tone control should have gone. I would like to rewire my Strat, add the second tone control and carve a hole to add a traditional Strat jackplate. Has anyone tried this? My Strat is by no means a vintage instrument but I am seriously considering this mod. Any suggestions are welcome. |

Location: Marlton, NJ | I completely rewired mine - new pups and changed the controls - no drilling/carving was required though. I also added more shielding - completely got rid of unwanted buzzing.
If you're careful, putting in the new hole shouldn't be too bad. |
