Location: los angels | I own and love my Ovation LX Standard 6778, but after reading about the 5197 I wonder if I should trade up. I do not play live so I don't care about the feedback issues --- blah, blah. Has anyone played her? Is there a significant
difference in sound and feel? Is it worth it?
Help. |

Location: Chicago | I can't speak exactly to your models, nyfont, but here is my story: I LOVE my old Legend (1117, early 70s). I finally got my first Adamas (1581) a month ago and am blown away. It is not that is BETTER per se but just very different. An amazing "dark chocolate" bass sound and strong clear highs. My advice would be keep the LX Standard and diversify with a W597. This is close enough to the 1581 except that it has two sets of epaulette-and-sound holes. Go for it. You will NOT be disappointed by an Adamas. |

Location: Bluffton, SC | Very subjective but I would say, generally speaking, the Adamas sound is more impressive than the Ovation sound. I've got what I think is one of the better sounding Ovation models and yet I've been absolutely blown away by a few of the Adamas models (get your hands on a Ute - it's killah!). Spend the time, find some shop that has one or two (and it may not be easy unless you go to a Ct. Tour), play them and make your own decision. There's no substitute. |

Location: big island | keep in mind that the W597 and the 1597 are smooth top guitars which have an amazing quality of sound but in my opinion, lack volume and bottom acoustically. they are the cat's meow plugged in though. if you want acoustic power (and amazing electronics) then get a woven-topped adamas like dobro's 1581. (1587, 1681, and 1687s qualify also) |

Even though I live in LA, I can't find any store that carries the Adamas line. Conspiracy,no doubt. I found one store in San Diego. If any one has a lead, let me know |

Pretty much mint condition.
Email me if interested. |

Location: closely held secret | nyfont, be interested. When Stephen say mint condition, it usually means it looks like it did 15 minutes before it left the factory.
And a 1681 (deep bowl full body) will pretty much blow a w597 or 1597 out of the water acoustically. |
