1998 Gibson SST Chet Atkins, near mint condition, black finish, gold hardware, all original with original brown Gibson hard case.
Great guitar, very comfortable, great electronics, ebony fretboard with pearl stars inlays, a dream to play plugged in, no feedback and very natural acoustic sound.

Between the other two black Gibbys.
In the future, I plan to do a comparo between this and the Viper. It would be good to get a T-5 in there as well, although I'm not sure they're the same animal. Maybe a Hamer Duo-Tone, too. The SST appears to have the same characteristics as a Viper . . . mahog body, spruce top, under saddle pick-up, slim ebony neck. I'm not expecting a huge difference. |
