But generally considered very nice Ovations, depending on the condition.
And what it is worth depends on the condition, and how much the buyer wants it. And how much you want for it. It's your guitar.
Timing is important too... and it's almost Tax Time. :p

Location: notts | thanx for all your replies just starting to collect ovations thought i start with this guitar ive been collecting grecos for the last 5 yrs or so they are the exacted copy of les paul gibsons dam they sound good which ovation sould i buy next or too look out for cheers |

The 1537 is one of the more sought after models ever offered by Ovation. They were made using some of the same methods and by the same folks who built the Adamas models in Ovation Mooseup facility.
It is difficult to quantify what makes them special, but they definitely have a different tone than most other Ovations made up to that time or since. It has been describe as perhaps the closest that Ovation has come to a completely wood guitar. One thing to keep in mind is that the fretboard is supposed to float over the soundboard. Do NOT attempt to fasten it down like other Ovation models.
Do a search of the archives. There are several threads discussing the merits of the 1537. Moodypi, StandingOvation, Tupperware, and StephenT28, weighed in on several threads with their impressions

I was wanting to pick up one with a bad neck and see if the factory would make an Adamas I wood top out of it, but they didn't give me a response (that is the first time that has ever happened), so I take it that means NO. |
