| After looking at this website given to me through the You Tube thread in the discussion forum. I am curious if anyone would know of a vintage shop that might have one of these kicking around.
Not to picky about the finish. Have not seen enough of these to have a preference yet.
I noticed on a search through ebay that Chet Atkins endorsed these for a while back in the day. But no guitars for sale this week yet.

Location: Scotland | That was Freedom Guitar In think, closed down or moved when I was last in Hollywood (07 NAMM) They're nothing to get excited about. Most of the ones I've come accross have had the effects ripped out, which is a plus, they were noisy and not particularly good. That said the guitars were pretty well made by mid/late 70's Gretsch standards, and an example of that era's Gretsch production they're cool. But the prices they can go for are, in my opinion, way more than their actual worth as a players instrument. There's 3 on Gbase right now. $2 to $2.5K |

| Darn, sorry to hear that! I thought these might be fun. I do need it to function on weekends. And I need to replace the J R Deacon as I should not be using it for giging, very foolish practice but I want something vintage to use. The one Dave Porter was using caught my eye and I remebered it from years ago.
I also had no idea they went for this price now. I'll check for the G-base guitar. Thanks for the info Gentlemen. |

| Found one, I remember a bass guitar having the Phaser and Chorus built in during this era. but it was an asian builder and was considered a problematic guitar. Chris Squire used one to record some things and made them more well known.
This is a gretsch, and I am really curious to see just how these work. They have also made a sort of a reissue of these I see that run a little cheaper. This one is just what I had in mind though. Check it out looks like fun!

| Well I do want it... but I do understand if this guitar is problematic then it is not a good purchase. So I appreciate you guys letting me know. I have three guys who I consider "experts" compered to my limited vintage guitar knowledge so I will have to differ to their opinions.
Dam...... this really looks like a fun guitar too. I would not buy one of these unless I could kick the tires anyway. and there just are not enough of these around for me to do that without driving hundreds of miles.
The J R Deacon I have has this kind of sound options from the electronics he built into it. but they are not apparent unless your using an effects unit that amplifies these settings. And I still have not figured out what range they have.
I was hoping to find another guitar like this that has some great electronics built in so I can show off with no effects pedals and come up with cool sounds right from the guitar.

Location: enid, ok | Thought about an old Elektra? They had those effects modules and it seemed like a neat idea, but I never played one and getting the effects moduleas now may be a crap shoot. |

| Hey thats it. Electra Squire used one on Tempus Fugit. They were a cheap import bass at that time. Still are, I guess and yes they had miniture pedals inserted into the body to make these effects work. The modules would be very hard to get I would suppose. |

Location: Minden, Nebraska | I had a Super Axe for a while and the effects WERE crappy. I think there are better Gretsch models available for less than what that one is selling for. |
