Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Here you go everyone. the pics tell the story. It's in fantastic shape; just has some dust on it. It's all nice: the neck is nice, the top is nice, the condition is nice, the case is nice. The sound...however...is so much better than nice. For those who don't know them, here are the specs from the Adamas website:
Body Type: Mid-Depth Cutaway
Top: Unidirectional Carbon Fiber
Bracing: Quintad 12
Scale Length: 25 1/4"
Neck Finish: Hand-rubbed urethane oil
Fretboard: Ebony
Fret Inlay: None
Bridge: Ebony - pinless
Rosette: Multi-piece Exotic Hardwood
Peghead Face: Gloss Black
Pickup: Ovation High Output
Nutwidth: 1 7/8"
Machines: Gold Ovation
I really want to avoid eBay, so I'm posting it here and on some other forums. I'm asking $1199 shipped in the continental U.S. If you're overseas, get with me about a quote, but try not to have a heart attack when I send it. (Man it's expensive anymore!)
Let me know what you all think.

| If I had an extra $1199 I'd buy it in a heartbeat and keep it the rest of my life. I still miss the Elite 1758 I had once but let it go.. :( |

OK, one more try before the dreaded 'Bay:
I'll take $1099 for it. I'm looking at a couple of others, but will have to let them go if this one does not sell soon. |

| There's a W-597 on ebay that apparently was a special order. It has the Elite neck with the abalone binding and fret markers. Never saw one like that before. (item#200201226869) |

My wife and I had another baby last September (#2). We've taken two lengthy car trips since then, and I'm tired of having to drive with my knees in the radiator. I swear, small children need more gear to visit the mall than an adult needs to mount a scuba expedition!
I used to think the wedding industry had run amok. But the infant/toddler industry makes them look like rank amateurs. You know what they say: First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Patch with a baby carriage...with matching infant seat, a duffel full of toys and board books, an insulated bottle bag, a powered cooler that plugs into the car's (excuse me, mini-van's) lighter, a baby bjorn (a papoose for your chest), portable DVD to keep your 3 YO from adding a counter harmony to the infant's random tantrums, a Designer Diaper Bag (crammed to bursting with...well...stuff), and of course, the back up diaper bag; because you just know (especially if you're of Irish descent like me) that if you don't have a spare handy, that little fella will wait until you are at the most remote rest stop in West (By God) Virginia to loudly demand a clean undergarment, and the second the cool air hits, he will deploy his little swivel mount and promptly, gleefully, and impressively hose down the aforementioned DDB.
Frankly, I'm not certain yet that the mini-van is large enough. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | We had 4 VW vans. Somehow they were a little out of the minivan mainstream. Then we got a Honda Odyssey. I once stopped at an intersection where all 4 corners had a grey one just like ours. How common, but good transportation. Didn't last long. Last fall I bought her a Porsche, which might compensate for all those years. |

There's no way the pics can capture the essence of this guitar. It is stunning in it's own 'understated' way (if that makes sense ).
I'm letting it breath some Florida air before restringing (Patch, thanx for the extra set! ). With it just resting there, I pluck a lower string and the note resonates with a natural pulsing that is unbelievable.
So to say I'm happy would be a major understatement!
Thanx Patch! |

So you gonna buy my 30th Anniversary or what? ;) Other than the finish crack, it's drop-dead gorgeous. |

I wish I could help ya out, especially since I LOVE that color. But I committed to a 'drop-dead' mint 1659 CL SB just before you posted your 30th.
To be honest, I'm elated that I did. I can't believe a 23 y.o. CL is in such a fine condition. It's one of my favorite 'finds'. I'll post pics in the near future.
Hopefully you'll kick azz on the 'Bay! Or an OFCer will bail ya out.
Again thanx for a fine instrument! |
