Hi folks,

Here’s one I haven’t seen for sale very often; a 1996 Collectors-30th Anniversary. The guitar is beautiful with only a couple of finish flaws. It plays like a dream and the intonation is perfect. It also has the magical mystery finish…it’s actually deep burgundy colored, but it looks completely different in different lights, shifting from black through burgundy to dark maroon and back again. Frankly, this finish is a BEAR to photograph, and my pictures do not do it justice. For those of you into tasteful bling, it has mother of pearl binding around the soundboard and the neck and an MOP oakleaf soundhole rosette, but it really isn’t in your face like some others because of the dark finish. It also comes with the Hex FX pre-amp. Other details include a solid sitka spruce top, ebony neck, gold tuners with pearloid buttons, 25 ¼” scale length, 1 11/16” nutwidth, and MOP 12th fret inlay. Now for the flaws, look closely in the pictures and you will see four of them in the top finish: two small dings on the lower bout, a scratch (not a finish crack) on the high E side of the rosette, and a pretty lengthy finish crack on the lower bout. This last has been stable since the 90’s. None of these affect playability or the integrity of the guitar. Some pick scratching is there as well. A trip to the mothership (which I can’t afford) would yield a stunning instrument tonally and aesthetically. Still, the flaws are noticeable, so the price reflects the circumstance. $675 shipped in the continental U. S. International members will definitely want to check with me about shipping first. It comes with a well-used, but sturdy after market, fitted H/S case. Feel free to ask questions and leave opinions. I’ve got my eye on some eBay guitars, so someone needs to take this one quick!

This is probably one of the most underestimated Ovations out there.

If you are looking for a subtle, yet elegant guitar with that certain bling factor - this is it.

According to sound my '96 is one of my finest O's. Not as bassy as a Deep Bowl or an Adamas, but one of the most balanced guitars I have. Very sweet sound, precise and clear. Strung with Silk&Steels this guitar really shines.

And if you are one of those few stereo-guys - the HexFX gives you a lot of great oportunities to create some very spacy effects.

Good luck with the sale,
Kurt

I'm surprised. Not a single offer yet. Did I price it too high?

I don't think so... just a lot of options out there right now.. my Nakao is priced in the same ballpark, and in about the same condition... but after the first few initial inquiries... nada...

economy, taxes, other obligations, bad breath... could be anything..

good luck with it.. I'm gonna wait a little while longer before it(mine) hits the bay..

Maybe you should wait until the tax refunds or rebates come in.

Patch,

The beer supply is dropping inversely to my guitar population! :D Three 'O's in Feb should hold me until the National IRS Appreciation Day!

And yes, you are easy! :p

Oh, wait a minute... Someone's on the line...

A-D,
Check you PM... ;)

OK...since this one seems to be garnering near zero interest  :( , drastic measures must be taken. I'll ship this one for $575. Will someone please put me out of my misery here? :)

I finally caved in and sent it to eBay. I REALLY did not want to do that! :(

eBay Posting; 30th Anniversary

You can still get it cheaper here at the good ol' OFC. ;)

Just moving this one nearer the surface. Still open to offers. Can't someone here save me the eBay seller's fee. ;)
