Solid Koa back and sides with solid bearclaw spruce top....nice claw!
This is a stock photo since the guitar is currently residing with Jeff. I am sure he can snap some photos for me and attest to this guitars condition, sound, and playability!
Body Shape: New Yorker
Rosette: Abalone
Top: Solid Bear Claw Spruce
Inlays: Dots
Back: Solid Koa
Sides: Solid Koa
Fingerboard: Ebony
Electronics: TLD Line Driver
Tuners: Gold & Pearl
This guitar is just a tone machine acoustically. New yorker size is slightly smaller but sounds much bigger, really projects well. Has a nicely balanced woody tone with rich harmonics and clear string separation. Just a sweet ax. Maybe it is the hi grade solid koa, or the solid bearclaw spruce top, or the attention to detail, or all of it together, but if this ax had a different logo, it would sell for twice as much easily.
These list for $2700 new and street price is still around $1900-2000.
Excellent plus/near mint with OHSC.
This is really a steal at the price of $1600 shipped CONUS. |

Let me send this one to vacation at your house for a while. I like how short term visitors become adopted as permanent family members! |

...on second thought, please don't send it. My guitar allowance got used up on the last 'visitor' from Colorado. I would prefer to not celebrate my next birthday posthumously. I can't say for sure that I could get out of the house fast enough. |

Maybe one or two more acoustics to go and then I start in on the electrics and the amps and the pedals! |

or just send them one to play with cause you don't have any available space to store it.
Fortunately we have some members like Tuppy and Trader Jim who like to buy brands other than O's and A's and then grow tired of them and introduce them to the OFC masses. |

Last year, I sold or traded fifteen, all to OFC'ers. In addition, I have loaned guitars and been the recipient.
It is a good group... |

Location: SoCal | Hmmm, okay but been so busy, this is not the final...
It has strings on it (DR Blue Peacock) that Stephen says are 6 mos old, look new. Haven't restrung as I have strung two 12's and 2 6's since it arrived.
Finally figured how to get a proper playing position with a strap. As it is a New Yorker, at first it felt like a tenor uke. Looks like a little brother next to a deep bowl or the 'D' Martins.
So, with that said...it is a gorgeous guitar, bearclaw and Koa. Physically, it feels very comfortable. Very comfortable neck. Even with old strings, beautiful "voice" over the spectrum (bass to tenor), very well balanced. May not change the strings for a year or so.
Similar to the pre-amp of the FD-14, output through endpin w/o tone/vol. No problem, I use a Dean Markley on my acoustic Martins and don't need more. A very nice example of Takamine's best. |

Location: SoCal | I need to compliment Jeff W. on his packing...UPS did their combined best to destroy the box with cuts, compression damage, etc. No way that this box could be reused. Although there is a very slight smudge on the top of the case where they wacked the box, the case still looks great and the guitar survived. The neck was padded and wrapped. Without the extra TLC, it probably would have had a broken neck. |

Stephen is highly recommended as a seller for several reasons: crazy (as most of us are), concern about the buyer's needs, and excellent disclosure.
Would I buy again from him? Hope not but my willpower is weak  :D  |
