I've been seduced by that Sweetwater 'T' and the only way I can swing the deal is to sell my 1778T. Asking $600 and that includes shipping and the hard shell case. I'll even throw in a brand new set of strings.

I could (and will) take photos for anyone who wants to see them, but it looks like every other "Pewter" gray 1778. (Photos and specs are viewable at www.ovationguitars.com.) This is the one with the mid-depth bowl and OP-30 pickup with built-in tuner. I've had the guitar for about 18 months and as I recall, it was built in 2005 (I'll get the serial # and attempt to confirm this). Everything works and looks like brand new with no scratches, dings or blemishes. Always cased when not played, always played indoors in non-smoking environment. It still even smells new.

As you have recently read on the 'general' discussion part of this website, the Elite T was voted the best bang for the buck of any Ovation. This one is the best-sounding guitar I have ever owned, with the best neck (rock maple and nice low action reminscent of an electric). My heart is in my throat at the mere thought of parting with it, but honestly, the one 'con' for me is the 'industrial' look of the 1778Ts — I just can't get used to it. The simple addition of the epaulet on the Sweetwater model makes the design finally work for me.

Anyone interested in contributing to my severe O-ddiction can PM or get me more directly at johnr@latitude38.com.

Sorry John...I just claimed one of the Sweetwater T's myself.

This is truly a difficult season to sell our used Ovations. I decided to buy now before the chance is gone, and sell when the market is better...sort of like the housing market right at the moment.

BTW, I bought the T 2 days ago and the guy from Sweetwater told me I claimed #9 out of 10.

There are some models that you don't see that often.

97 Collectors and the old Country Artist,(1124 & 1624).
