My cable won't arrive for a couple more days. I'll be sure and measure it when it gets here, before I use it once and throw it in the box with all my other unused cables. |

OK. Died for lack of a second.
Iffy, the only criminal law I did was clerking in a prosecutor's office during law school. I don't want to defend criminals and they wouldn't want me on their side. |

I'd rather sell cars.
They didn't rank guitar salesmen. |

Location: Sydney, Australia | OK enough OT. Back to the cables. I have a Lo Z connection on my Adamas but have never tried it. I understand the benefit is that I can plug in without draining my battery. From Al's ad for this I infer that I would need to plug something else in for it to work if I just used one of the Lo Z cables that are lying around in church (for use with microphones).
Q1: If I plug in with those cables, what will happen?
Q2: What exactly is the advantage of buying one of the one's Al is selling? |

Location: closely held secret | You need a cable that has pin #1 tied to the outer shell. I've found that some cables have it, some don't. If you have an ohmmeter you can check a cable by seeing if pin #1 and the outer shell are shorted. Or, you could just try plugging in with one at church and ask them to turn the phantom power on and see if it works.
I assume the cables Al is selling have this configuration. |

That's because we do enough of that HERE. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough for the phantom power on my amps. I get a phantom radio station when I plug in the Ute, and something keeps turning on the 99 Collector's tuner and draining the battery, but no phantom power yet. |
