Somehow, I received twelve sets of D'Addario EXL150 (12-str nickel wound) when I ordered five and seven Adamas 1616's for my a/e's.
Has anyone used the EXL150's on an a/e (Custom Legends and Adamas.
Curious as I got two sets of 1616's missing one .010 in each set.
Got a set of 5 single D'Addario Electroplated Hi-Carbon steel strings (.010) and was told they could be used to replace the missing strings in the two sets of 1616's. |

I thought we discussed this once before and came to the conclusion that there was/wasn't one. |

When they've been around for a while and you open them up and there's spots of flash rust in the plain steel strings, and the wound strings aren't shiny...that's past the shelf life.

Location: SoCal | Oh well...will try one set on my 6759 CL (std headstock)...picked up three sets of EJ38's today for the slotheads. If it doesn't work, easier to replace the stings on the 6759 than on the slotheads. |

Nickel wounds are generally just used on electrics. I suspect they're not used on acoustic guitars for a reason. If you had a mag pickup, that might be one thing, but ... I'll bet they don't do justice to the guitars.
Maybe you ought to buy another electric 12 string or two. ;) |
