Location: Berkeley, CA | There's a pretty cool 3 day music festival coming up late August in Golden Gate Park, if you like that sort of thing.
Kaki will be there. :)
Here's more info.

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Twenty-one years ago they were celebrating the 20th anniversary of the "Summer of Love"...
One Sunday they just decided it was a good day for a party...
I remember it started-out with the KBC Band (Kantner, Cassidy & Balin... Jefferson Airplane without Slick)...
Bob Weir played and a whole bunch of others. I wish I could be more specific, but I don't remember much after the second band (and it was still Daylight).
Not really advertised (the Haight Street People knew about it), but the radio told people about it after it started.
No Permit, No Problem!
A few thousand people, and a few dozen cops. The cops we knew just stopped by and told us to Play Nice. Then they stood around and enjoyed the concert and overtime.

My first one was Iron Maiden touring on Number Of The Beast, Scorpions touring on Blackout, Loverboy (who cares what they were touring on), and Foreigner (the headliner, but again, who cares) |

Location: Tennessee | OMA - I was at that show. With my wife and kids. It was a beautiful (not foggy) summer Sunday in Golden Gate Park. Wavy Gravy had the stage for a time. Taj Mahal did a set too. Cassidy did a set with the band he was doing at the time. I remember dudes selling shrooms, weed and hash like peanut vendors at the ballpark. There were brownie vendors too. And a lot of hackysack was being played. |

That is kinda why I don't remember too much of the concert...
I was one of the local (old hippie) street tramps, so I didn't have to pay for edibles and smokables.
[Aah, but I am so much more responsible now  No, Really, I am!... Kinda sux in a way] |
