Location: chicago | I recently lost an Applause AA31 guitar to a fire. I had purchased it new in 1988. Its tone was amazing, it had a strong bass and clear mids and highs, the deep bowl design (5") allowed excellent projection, its sunburst finish was beautiful, and I LOVED IT. I wrote hundreds of songs with it. Now it's gone. :(
I got a gorgeous $2K Breedlove to replace it. But it's way too FUSSY.
I miss my Applause. It sounded great with any gauge strings, held onto a dropped C tuning, and didn't care if the humidity wasn't 100% perfect all the damn time.
Does anyone have an Applause AA31 from the 80s, or an equivalent Ovation Balladeer model from the 70s or 80s? I'm looking for the deep bowl back, a nice straight neck, in VG to EX condition (no flaws affecting playability), and I would love to find another sunburst.
And I'll pay a very fair price! | |

Location: England | Hi. I've got an Applause AA-31 brownburst in excellent condition, with Hiscox fitted hardcase. The serial number is 6-digits and begins with 05****. Are you still interested in purchasing one?
Cheers,
Tim | |
