Is it another OFC member that's bidding this up against me or am I getting shilled?

Doesn't always work but at least I feel it keeps the shills away to a small degree. |

I've ran into this twice within the past 4-5 weeks on CL. One CL seller wrote that the buyer asked if there were any more for sell.
BTW, the buyer is paying asking price... |

| If it is Spider rarely pays what they are worth. He asked about the three I have sold so far and left me alone each time I quoted him a "Fair" BIN price.
Not to belittle another member but Spider has beat me to three ebay adamas's in the past and I was kind of angry about the final price he got two of them at.... and has recently asked me to remind him what I was asking for the 1587-8 I still am thinking of letting go. He is mainly interested in the early "Blue" two knobers. And he is looking for sellers that he can contact early in an auction and who do not know the value of these guitars. Must be getting harder and harder to buy these cheap.
He must make a killing on these with the value of the dollar being what it is in the asian market. Perhaps he will be paying near the $2000 or more like the rest of us soon as well.
This is what they seem to sell for. As for the shill bidding?? I do not think this is Spider, I think he is a "snip" kinda guy like many of us are. THis was how I lost two of my Adamas's, I put in a low bid and waited..... no one else bid either, the seller was thinking after 6 days that his guitar was not worth what he thought it was and Apparently he recieved an offer from our friend, and gladly took it, then ended the auction. By the time I found a way to contact this guy the guitar was sold & shipped for $900. ! I bid a little more now than I did. |

Location: Angoulême - France | You're right Lanaki : those rare old ones 1978<#600 are the best sounding Adamas ever, after that in 1979 they introduced the suspended ring and then later around 1984 they modified the carbon textured top as it is today, I just forgot when they stopped the sandwich with piece of wood... |

I'm working on something else with more strings and still waiting to see if the sale of my 47RI goes down. If it had only been a 1689... |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Remy, Not sure where you got your facts, maybe with the help of a little too much Remy?
1) the ring design changed around #70
2)the tops are all sandwiched, maybe in the last 10 years or so they've changed but I don't think so
3)What was down around 84? |

Location: Scotland | That's ebay for you. He needs to learn the ebay games. He relisted it way too soon after the original listing ended, and US only shipping takes out the Dadi freaks etc, who just can't find these guitars in Europe. His loss, if he sells at that price. |

| I don't think this sold. Not for that price...No way.... I think this guy had someone bid it for him and it went off for that. If you want it contact him I'll bet he's sitting on it, and willing to take a fair offer. |

Location: big island | otto "stole" the red one last week. i only hope this one is in as fine condition. what really sucks is that the dollar is not worth much either, so all things considered, these really are a couple of steals. |

Location: big island | well...i've got the UPS tracking # and i'll be bitin' my nails till it gets here. i don't trust brown with guitars. the seller said shipping with UPS would be easier for him than USPS. he quoted me $100 for shipping but he ended up paying $205 to ship. must've used a packing service too
so after eBay fees, paypal fees and extra shipping costs, this poor seller really took a beating. |

....oh yeah, she's definitely staying acoustic!!!

According that ADAMAS PRICE LIST, the 1188 model was available in 1978 in the very early days of production!!
