Location: USA | FS: Ovation 1863 Super Shallow Bowl – Legend – Nylon-string guitar with Ovation OP-X preamp/pickup! Ovation hardshell case included.
This guitar cost me around $1250 (give or take) when I bought it new. Not sure how to tell the year, but I’m going to guess around 2000 or 2001.
The guitar has a solid Cedar top with a couple of very small (1mm) dings… near the bridge. One is a very small (perhaps 3mm long) finish crack near the bridge. It’s been there perhaps for 5 years so no fear it’s going to go any longer than that. It’s not a wood crack, just a finish crack that happened when changing strings one day. Overall, it’s in probably 8.5 to 9.0 out of 10 condition. No dings on the headstock or neck.
This has a 5-piece neck which is straight (no radius) and 2” at the nut… basically, this is Ovation's version of a classical guitar. Body joins the neck at the 12th fret. Tuners are very nice and shiny Gold Schaller classical tuners.
The super shallow bowl is a joy to play if you've ever tried playing an Ovation. While I would say you would still want a strap on the guitar to keep the round bowl from rolling off your belly, it's a lot easier to play a super shallow bowl than a deep bowl Ovation! And it's suprisingly loud for a super shallow bowl guitar too!
This is a USA Legend guitar, not the cheap inexpensive foreign made Celebrity versions. The OP-X pickup is SUPER quiet and has four bands of EQ and a Notch filter to dial out feedback. The battery lasts like FOREVER, well, ok, not forever, but it seems to! I usually just change it out once every six months or so. 9 volt battery.
The case is in 8 out of 10 condition. A few surface scratches by bumping against a white wall… you’ve all seen this when the white paint rubs off the wall and onto the case…
I’m asking $750 plus shipping for this guitar paid via Postal Money Order… or best offer. This is sold as is and sale is final as I need the funds to pay for the other guitar. But be assured, this is a great guitar with no problems. Signature is required when delivered, so be sure someone is at home and able to sign for the guitar... or perhaps we can ship it to your work address for someone to sign for it. This is a safeguard for both parties.
I need to sell this one FAST as I’m considering another guitar. If it is not sold by this coming Monday, I’m pulling the sale because the other guitar will no longer be available. Should the other guitar sell before I find a buyer for this guitar, I will have to pull the sale as well.
So help me out fast, get a great classical Ovation and start enjoying a super nice nylon string guitar you can plug in!! No reasonable offer will be overlooked! But be realistic... this guitar was discounted to $1250 when new. Thanks!
Note: I have a rubber soundhole "Feedback Buster" which I have cut to fit the extended fingerboard of the Ovation which goes into the soundhole area. I'll throw that in as well. It works great if you plug in the guitar and need to pump up the amplified volume.

Location: Boise, Idaho | It's actually a Classic, not a Legend, with a 12 fret neck, 2 inches at the nut. Very nice player, although I haven't played the shallow bowl model. I still haven't figured out why people think the deep bowls are hard to hold on your lap. |

I'm taking offers at this point so don't be afraid to ask. But please keep it real. :) |

I've always thought I would like a 1863....so it was a guitar I was always kinda wantin' to find a deal on to add to my collection.....and man-o-man is this a deal ! BUT I'm so guitar poor that if they were selling sailboats for a penny a piece....all I could do is run up and down the dock hollin' "Ain't That Cheap?" :(
Looks like the guitar is in great shape....Good Luck with the sale......(the only drawback for you is the need to sell it by Monday...) |

Location: USA | Well, the hope is to get this sold before the other guitar sells. I have until Monday as a guarantee. But as long as the other is still available, this will still be available.
Trader Jim: As for the AGF, it seems Ovations don't get much notice there... so I thought I'd try it here. :) But anyone who knows me from the AGF, knows I'm good for my deals. :) |

I read and post on the AGF but not as often as I do here. Nice guitar you've got for sale but I already have two nylon string guitars. |

Here's my final price offer... $650 including shipping (Continental USA only). That's not bad considering the guitar costs $1250 new... |

I've always found that nylon string guitars don't gather as much excitement as steel string guitars and that's too bad. A nylon-string guitar adds a nice extra flavor to playing in my opinion... |

Location: USA | Good news for everyone! The guitar I was considering is being sold to me, but the seller had someone else also interested! Since I was first in line, I got first dibs! So we all won on this one!
Keith, if you send a Postal Money Order check, I can ship ASAP. Otherwise, we'll do as we said... we'll wait for the check to clear and then I'll ship. Either way, based on your current situation, you're in no real rush for it anyway. So it's up to you. But Postal Money Order is really quick, costs you only $1.00 at the Post Office if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks again for a great transaction. Enjoy! |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Hey Congratulations! I was thinking the other day about how much I missed my classical. But ... Now I'm getting a little envious ... I haven't bought or sold anything for quite a while now and I'm starting to have GAS ... Hmmmm? ... what do I have that I wouldn't mind parting with? Oh Well. |

Location: Kennesaw, GA | War Eagle, just for kicks, if you have a wah pedal and delay, try playing the nylon through that. I've been playing my deep bowl nylon through a Bad Horsie wah, into the pedal board with some reverb and delay; the sounds you can get are amazingly crazy, uncanny, and interesting. I guess the wah and nylon combo makes for a unique enjoyment. Nice catch on here; this looks like a sweet guitar. |
