Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I really, I mean REALLY, wanted to keep this one. But I’m brewing up another plot and the family needs a new computer, so….BOY I hate saying this….this one goes on the block. (SIGH!)
A gorgeous 1615 Pacemaker A/E 12-string. It’s a Deep Bowl topped with solid Sitka Spruce with Ovation fan bracing. It’s got 12 frets to the body with a 25 ¼” scale and slotted headstock. The tuners are Deluxe Chrome with pearloid buttons. The nutwidth is a meaty but comfy 1 7/8”. The fretboard is ebony with pearl inlays and the bridge is reinforced walnut (Just tune it to pitch and don’t worry about it.). The serial number is 244730 which makes its build year 1981.
I just put new D’Addario light on it, and this thing positively sings! The neck is straight and the intonation is right on. It’s in amazing condition for its age with a couple of finish dings that were filled/touched up by the previous owner and one 3” scratch that apparently went through the paint on the back bowl. It looks like someone colored it in with a sharpie or something, but I looked inside and see no evidence that it’s anything but a surface scratch. Honestly, these are just minor cosmetic issues, and the guitar sounds fantastic!
I’ve been wondering about these for years because they have such a stellar reputation for sound and durability. And this one lives up to everything I’ve heard. It comes with it’s original hard-shell case (also in very good condition). I’m asking $495 shipped CONUS. International folks can check with me about shipping first.
Let me know what you think folks. This one is really lovely and getting harder to find every day.

That is a great price for a 1615.
If I didn't already have a 1972 model 1115. I would be looking. Someone is going to get a great guitar at a great price. |

| Where do you find these guitars Patch? These are truly fabulous guitars, I've owned 3, and just got 1 totally refurbished with new electronics. I love the refurb job, but to tell you the truth sometimes I miss the old electronics, very clean sound. Not to mention a 20 year old top sounded spectacular. I'm working hard at breaking my new top in. You know you don't appreciate something till its gone. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | These are phenominal 12 string guitars: I used one of these on the road for 13 years straight: playing upwards of 7 nights per week @ 4 sets per night + practice time...it never one time let me down...This spring I bought a 1979 -4 in Mint condition: I cannot describe the fantastic sound and playability...someone should grab this guitar and never look back (I would not sell mine for this price)...You'll thank yourself (and Patch) later ! |

These are awesome boomers. As I've posted elsewhere in the past, my 1615-1 is in my will. I will not ever sell it!
If you want that classic renown Ovation 12er full tonal quality, this is it! (Did I use enough adjectives?) |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Sorry about disappearing for a couple of days folks,
SWMBO made a spur of the moment decision that we should visit her family for the holiday weekend and they have no internet.
All emails and PM's have been answered. A deal may be pending that revolves around international shipping fees.
Hopefully I will follow this post soon with good news. ;) |

You and Dweezil are the loud splashy sharks in this pool. I'm the large, silent critter cruising along and stalking a really BIG meal. |
