| I have acquired a 1970 Ovation K1113-4 Classic Guitar with Famous Brown Case. Unfortunately, my Case is Missing the Handle. Anyone know where I can get a Handle and the Mounting Hardware. The Ovation Service Department cannot help me. Thank you in advance for your assistance. |

Location: Scotland | Yep, the foil label indicates that it is later than 1970, and it wont have a K-prefix. K-prefix model numbers dissappeared in '72. Serial number will nail it, unless it's missing it should be on silver tape up by the neck block. |

| Serial Number of my K1113-4 is 9957. I thought this meant it was made in 1970. |

Plus, there was a lot of mix and matching going on on parts and labels. My guess has always been that the company, at that time, was more interested in bringing good guitars to the marketplace, than in keeping meticulous records of what they were doing..... |

Location: Maine | Took me a while .. but here are some comparative pics of another early model.. This guitar has a sweet deep growl to it. Amazingly light too. Not a shiny bowl, but has the stick on skid pad..

| The Bridge on TJR's guitar does not look like the unfinished walnut bridge on the other Ovation Classic Guitars I have seen. It looks like it has been stained to a dark color and then had some kind of shiny varnish applied. |

I agree the bridge and peghead are stained with a deep red/brown color..
I've got it strung up w/ an old set of ADAMAS Classical GUT strings.. They seem to stretch forever

Location: Singapore | Don't mean to be spoiler of party. But isn't the original question about case handle? I agree very much the guitar is a thing of excellent beauty but.... anybody got any answer about the handle? My OHSC also needs a handle.
SO.... if any kind soul has a solution please answer. |

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado | I would 3rd on the handle.. Got a case with a strip of heavy leather as a handle.. Very rustic looking, but not as good as the original.

Location: Boise, Idaho | Someone eons ago recommended going to a luggage repair store and getting a handle. I don't think the factory sells replacement handles, but the manufacturer of the cases might. |
