Hello all, Newbie here. :D

I've been reading a lot on this website over the last few months and decided to join. I'm currently not an Ovation owner but hope to become one soon. I've played many Ovation's/Adamas in the past but never was a proud owner.

I've decided that I'd like to trade my 1998 Taylor 314CE. It's in VERY good condition with almost no fretwear, and sounds wonderful. The 90's by most are considered to be Taylor's "Golden Years". This guitar has the pre NT neck that many look for.

If I can't work out a trade of some sort here I'll probably go to the dreded ebay. I'm looking for an Adamas 1597 or 2080, but am open for other Adamas models. If anyone has a 2080 I'd be willing to trade the Taylor plus $300. I'll be opening a photobucket page to post pics but in the meantime if anyone wants some pics send me a PM and I'll get them to you asap.

Thanks and I look forward to becoming an officail member of this forum.

Might try a sell on the AGF Forum before going to ebay. They have a pretty strong Taylor contingent over there.

You won`t have much luck with a Taylor around here. Lots of these guys want one but they are afraid of the Taylor police.

Nothing wrong with trying different flavors of ice cream so to speak. I love guitars, wheather they are Ovations, Taylor's, Martin's, Larrivee's...ect.

:D If everyone is affraid I understand :D

I've played some great sounding Taylors, I just can't afford them.

I s'pose I really can't afford a 2080 either but I have one anyway :D

That's frekin funny!!! I know that you guys are just "bustin balls" but it's okay to like another brand of guitar, really it'll be okay. It's not like you are cheating or anything, it's an open relationship:-)

BTW, I forgot to mention this in my original post. The "street value" of the guitar plus $300-350 cash is around $1600 for my "sucky Taylor guitar that sucks donkey dick".....that there is funny!

RDAO8, if you can get $1300.00 for a 314CE you had better jump on it, fast.

For the year and condition the average is $1150-1250. The Adamas 1597 average between $750-1000 depending on year/condition. The Taylor and $300-350 would be for a used Adamas 2080 which are going for around $1500, more like even trade for a used 1597.

I bought a brand new guitar and it has more fretwear in 10 months than the Taylor has and it's 10 years old. I may just keep it and save up for another guitar if the warden (wife) will allow me to :D
