Here are the opics to go with my first post

Model 1738 s.n 015435

Rosewood fingerboard. Little to no fretwear. 3 cracks on the top. hard to see in pics but cosmetic.

Just wanting to see what this might be worth. The 12 was great for playing in church to fill outn the sound, but now I wnat to get back to a 6, and really don;t need ( although I DO want) 2 guitars...

Pretty cool guitar.
Has the foam neck but a real fingerboard, they way we made them at the end.
And the Blowmoulded case. I think these are rarer than Academys.

I wondered about the neck. I had thought that the all had the aluminum fingerboard with the buit in frets. But according to the ovation time line, the rosewood fingerboard was standard. Wondering of the 1st year production had the all aluminum, and the they realized the problem with not being able to refret, and made the change the second year? Problem is, according to Ovation, the rosewood was standard??

Hmmm, I think maybe Beal has better info than the website. My 1637 ('81 vintage) had the rosewood fretboard.

BTW, welcome to the board, nikon4004!
