Nice. That's a good deal for a guitar of that quality and vintage. I like the original packing box, too. I wish I was in the market.

Lots of discussion about the heat bubbles on the case back then...third time for this guitar by my count...

It would probably sell a lot easier without the stupid bumper sticker. I'm all about patriotism and stuff, but I draw the line at painting stuff on my guitar. Dave

I like the stencil myself. I think it looks pretty cool, and besides, unlike other collector's guitars, the fact that they destroyed the stencil means that these can never be made again. All the others can be repaired to original state or improved (like that 01C with the inlaid eppis), but not these.

This would be a great test of the "Playing the guitar opens it up" theory if whoever buys it gets a chance to test it head to head with a Patriot that's been played (or an equivalent legend from the same time period).

Remember it was 1976. The artwork could have been a lot less conservative.
Think Peter Max...

I'm not too big on the Bi-Centestical design either . . .

Nice guitar, but it just reminds me of that "Colonial"-style furniture that my mother always told me to get my feet off of . . .

I passed on one at a pawn shop a few years ago for $200.00. No case and a bad top crack but played and sounded good.

I love his comments about the color, finish and workmanship of the guitar generally. It could apply to the Legend Ltd that appeared a few years later sans the stencil. Not sure how many shipping boxes original to the guitar remain in existence like this. Whether it sells or not, the story is interesting.
