Finally. The guitar world is coming to its senses.

Balladeer12 #1

Balladeer12 #2

Go! Go! Go!

For those you you preparing to fight it out over these, I wanted to let you know I have one of these in better condition than either of these. I will reluctantly let mine go for a mere $5K. Small denomination bills preferred.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it interesting that two sellers 3,000 miles apart are asking the exact same buy it now price for the "same" guitar.

No, Bobbo, you'll ruin the values of all our Ovations. You need to ask $7900 for yours, since that is obviously the market value. Once you made it 3 guitars for the same asking price, then it would further cement the value.

One of them was $10,000 not too long ago...

And I still have my One-of-a-Kind Honey-Boist Pacemaker I will let go for a measly $5,000!

Well, that's interesting. When I posted last night, #1 was an $8500 BIN. Seller must have adjusted the price to be consistent with the true going price for these.

Mark, you are absolutely correct. But I will apply a 20% discount for OFC members, making your price a bargain $6,320. I will ship priority overnight for free! Hit me up, guys!

$5,000.00

minus 20%

equals $6,320.00...

Hmm... Salesman and Lawyers, go figure! ;)

Makes as much sense as the, "What is this guitar (that I just bought, but I'm going to tell you that I just inherited it) worth?" questions. Then they'll argue with you, saying they just saw one like it on ebay for $7900.

No Woody, the 20% discount is of the $7900. I think a lawyer threatened me with a devaluation suit, so as a sales person, I was figuring a way around it and still making a good deal for my brethren here. And Sarbanes-Oxely requires I deposit funds into a defense fund now that I have been advised of potential liability for "dumping". ;)

Bobbo knows more law than I do. I'll be glad to spend that defense fund, though.

$7900 - Who are these guys kidding? They, neither one, have the original case. I wouldn't pay a penny over $7250.

I could be wrong, but #1's looks exactly like the case that came with my Nov 68- Feb 69 Deluxe Balladeer.

Plays and sounds fantastic!

I find it funny when we (self included) bitch and moan how ovations get no respect and sell for nickles. And then when one pops up at a premium price we bitch and moan how the seller is out of his mind ...
