Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I hate to so this. I HATE IT! But life happens...in this case a minor traffic accident (no one hurt thankfully) with damages that need to be repaired and paid for. So even though I've only had it a short while, the Ute must go. SIGH!
She's in perfect condition aesthetically, functionally, acoustically, and...um...mojo-ly! It's everything you've ever heard about this guitar. The thing positively BOOMS! It's perfectly balanced from lows to highs. Again, no issues at all!
Here are the specs: It has a Deep, Non-Cutaway Body, Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Top, Quintad Bracing, a Scale Length of 25 1/4", Natural Satin Neck Finish, Ebony Fretboard, Mother-of-Pearl Fret Inlays, Ebony Bridge, 1 3/4" Nutwidth, Gold Schaller Machines w/Ebony Buttons, and the OP-Pro Pickup. Only 100 made.
It comes with its original hardshell case. I'll ship it to your door in the CONUS for $1500! But here's the real kicker:
I would prefer not to have fewer guitars. (Wouldn't we all?) So I might be interested in trades w/cash as well. (I still need to pay for repairs don't forget.)
Here's my wish list, but I'm open to other ideas as well....
A Book Mandolin
A Book Mandocello
Another mandocello
1984 Collectors
1997 Collectors Wide Neck
1999 Collectors
2001 Collectors with center soundhole
2005 Collectors
2006 Collectors
Angel Step Elite 6 and 12-string
30th Anniversary Custom Legend
Adamas w597 Cobalt Blue
Nakao Craftsman Elite
Folklore LX
I'll even consider non-O's, but that might be a bit of a stretch for me.
Let me know folks. I have to put the car in the shop the first week of November.

In fact the 1597 goes on the bay tonight, it just won't get played. |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Someone just asked me about the smoke odor the guitar had when I got it. The short answer is that I had forgotten about that!
The long answer is I've bought guitars that had worse smoke odor. I just left the opened case in an unused office for a few days and put the guitar on a stand in my office. The odors completely dissipated. But in the interests of removing any worries, I will gladly trade out the case for one of my other 9158's if you like. |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I missed one in my trading list. I wouldn't mind a 6-string Custom Legend (deep bowl, burst or natural), especially (though not mandatory) with a slotted headstock. It would go nicely with my CL 12-string.
So far not much interest. Anyone out there? |

Location: Simpsonville, SC | It's funny Patch, the last few UTE's have not drawn as much interest as they should. Opinions vary greatly on this one.
The UTE that I bought from my buddy, mtnbiker Fred, will not be leaving Simpleville. It fills a nitch that no other can and it's that good.
When setup properly (as Fred sent it to me) it is a finger pickers dream and resonates forever.
Someone needs to get this one!!!! |

I've been playing with the set-up on mine this past week and I've found the sweet spot! Plays and sounds just like yours.
Now set-up with one thin shim and DA Custom lights.
'Finger Pickers Dream', I couldn't have said it better!
WOW!

Funny how the lights really bring out the sound and sustain isn't it?!
Fred told me about this before I bought it, he was right. I tried mediums, with the low setup, and they just weren't as good.
Someone still needs to get this one. |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | This one is still up for grabs folks. Dweezil reminded me, so I just thought I would bring it up in case someone wants to use Christmas as an excuse to buy an Adamas. |
