Location: CA | What are the chances this is truly a USA-made Ovation? No clearer photos are available and I've established by email that the guitar "has no inside label", but the serial number is 1107102, it is a shallow bowl and it does say "Ovation USA" . . . somewhere.
What else can I ask the guy to determine if it's a Balladeer (the soundhole trim looks skinny enough), which would be a good deal, or a Celeb/Applause, which I would not be interested in?
One more Q: do all USA-made Ovations have serial numbers stamped into the back of the headstock? This one has the number on a little label inside the bowl.
Thanks. Here it is:

Location: East Tennessee | My opinion is that it is a Celebriy. The bowls are made in the USA. The rosette looks like a Celebrity not a Balladeer. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Ditto what Mike said. US made O's don't come with that kind of top color either. They seem to use fancier colors on the laminate tops. |
