Location: Boise, Idaho | This weekend I sold the 99 Collector's. It hasn't left the house yet and I've got seller's remorse. SWMBO deposited the check and asked if I had plans for it. Since this is the closest thing to a guitar fund that I'll ever have, somebody make me an offer on something.
Here are a few limitations: I don't want another model that I already have. I don't play much plugged in, so I'd only consider an electric if it was a really good deal. I'm not crazy about shallow or even mid bowls. It doesn't have to be Ovation or Adamas, but that's what I know and like.
If no one has any good ideas, the "guitar fund" will turn into the remodel fund or tax fund or just plain pay bills fund soon. |

Or a Taylor DDSM

Location: Boise, Idaho | I guess I should have said that I got $750 for the 99. Stephen is more than a bit above my budget, already have a Ute, hardly ever play the 12 string that I have, I already turned down the Redwood when you were trying to sell it, David, but the rest are in the ballpark. The deal with the FD and a Josh White is that I really like my Folklore. I don't think I'd like the FD or JW more.
The Balladeer RI or a 97 Collector is what I'm leaning toward. My Custom Balladeer is on loan and is a SSB, so the RI would be different, and the 97 isn't close to anything I have. Keep working on it. I've done my share of enabling. |

TSSP (Totally Self Serving Plug) - I had this guitar up on ebay last month with no takers. If you are indeed interested in it let me know. It's brand new in the case, has about 30 minutes on it by myself and about 10 by Moody, which is another way of saying it's played "Bookends" and "Gentle On My Mind" and that's probably all. Serial number DOS. It's not a "must sell" for me, but should be a "must have" for you. We could arrange a personal delivery in BODO.

Location: Utah | Your collection is quite impressive already. You should take the $ and put the cash into the safe as a slush fund if you can't find anything right now. Then, when opportunity knocks, you can pull cash out of the closet.
That's how I've pulled off several guitar and gun purchases. The wife sometimes asks why nothing showed up on the credit card, but as long as the money doesn't come out of the household budget she doesn't care where it came from.
Hint: Take a $20 or $40 cash back at the grocery store once in a while, and squirrel it away in the slush fund. It's a forced savings plan that really works. In your favor. ;) |

But I still like the K1111..... |

Mark, based on what you said and your price range I think I would grab the '97 Collectors. Like you said it is different from anything currently owned and they are FUN little porch guitars. |

I sold the 99 to a local guy who found this board because he was wanting to try an Adamas or Ovation to record. He really liked the 99, especially the Optima, and I offered it to him in a moment of weakness. I usually only have those when I'm buying, not selling.
I'm thinking really hard about the K-1111, a Patriot or a 97 Collector. If there was still a John Lennon RI around in my price range, that would give me something to think about. |

Another thought would be an 05 Collector. I can't recall if I've ever played one. I wasn't originally a fan of the contour bowl, but have grown to like it on the LAVKoa. |

Location: Marlton, NJ | Mark - there's an '05 on ebay that comes with the iDea AND the OpPro for $895. If you take out the cost of the iDea ~$300 (which shouldn't count towards the guitar fund IMHO), then you've got the '05 for $595.
Can't beat that! |

David, I usually go to GC when we're over there for Thanksgiving, but I got stranded without wheels, trying to fix my parents' front door. I ended up breaking it beyond repair and had to buy them a new one. Going to GC would have been much better and probably cheaper. |
