I'd snag it myself, but I already have one just like it. If I had another set of hands I would buy it. These play really nice! If someone gets it for that price they will really get a deal.

Somebody will have knobs for it, I guess. The pickguard has the usual crack at the plug, but it's a great one to sling around.

I've got a 10% ebay coupon that expires today, too. This is really tempting, but I don't have too much time to go through the usual analysis about whether this is a good enough deal to risk the wrath of SWMBO over. Maybe she'll be in the Christmas spirit.

I always struggle with these sorts of deals, finally make a low ball bid and then someone outbids me at the last minute. (Did that sound convincing? I'm working up an excuse in case I get it for $231.50.)

Somebody got a good deal. Wasn't me. Someday I'll learn to play something on an electric guitar so I can justify owning one. I guess I'll need to learn 3 songs so I can get a 3rd one.

Two Songs! On in open tuning...
That way you need two guitars.
One for standard tuning, one for open tuning.

Oh... I thought that this would go at least to $300...
A Completed Listing search shows them All going to at least $300.
So I low-balled at $255.55...

Guess What  :p

Geez, Arthur, will that make 3 in the house? That one's about $50 under the lowest decent one I recall seeing.

First off, I wanna apologize to any OFC-er if I stole that from their hot-little-hands.
(I hadn't read this thread before I bid...)

I posted this Early this morning then went to bed.
I woke-up around 11:25 grabbed some coffee and turned-on the computer and I had an Item Ending email...
It said that the Viper going at $236, I couldn't let that Happen...
I just HAD to bid on it.

I Really Did Not Expect To Win This.
But I got it now.
This is the cheapest Viper I can find on an advanced search.

Now I will definitely have to sell something.
I've got a Glenn Campbell Artist coming, and I already have a 1621-4... One of the these Artists ain't staying.

This Viper that I just got seems to have a few more dings and an odd tuner, so this might need some rehab... Fornby's Furniture Polish or something.
(He does have a return policy, but we'll see...)

I'm DONE for now! That cleaned-out my PayPal guitar fund... and then some!

Battle-Axe with Active Pick-ups and a coil-splitter?

And I didn't know that there was a prize in Cup-o-Noodles... I've just been buying the 12 cent Top Ramen.

ACTually ... I was thinking that if I got the guitar cheap, I was going to just strip down the body to its natural color and end up with another flavor. (:

Congratulations Arthur.

Not sure Dweezil... But it currently costs less than the average price of Vipers and it has a case.
The seller mentions a crack in the PG and some dings that were too small to photograph.
But it is a 30+ year-old guitar.

Not sure how you get your stuff from here to the UK... But if it stays low, it might be worth it.
Maybe everybody will be wrapping presents instead of searching eBarf.

The Deacon has a Pre-amp system with some kind of phase-switching arrangement.
I am not sure if it is the same as a coil-tap...(My ASM has a coil-tap)
But I want one anyway. I will figure-out how to work it once I get it.
[I am going through a Viper phase right now.]

Don't feel sorry for me, OMA, and I suspect it's the same for bvince. He already has a Viper. I want one someday, but I'm not using the 2 Ultra GSs I've got.

$400 shipped ain't that bad...
But I have a Viper question...
Why does this one Not have a contour on the back?

See? Compared to the sunburst...

By serial number, the 'Natural' one is older than AJ's which I have, which has a contour shave-job.
Were they just lazy back then?
Somehow I usually expect the Older model to be better... Just vintage bias, huh?

Always looking for an education... That way if I apply for a job at a Music Store I can sound smart!

Good eye Art. I can't answer that. I'm Viper ignorant. I don't even know if mine has that cut as I'm at work now.

My Bluebirds which are Viper shaped, are contoured like that, particularly the 6-string.

I had a Viper III Custom that had the top front edge, where your arm goes over, contoured as well...much like a Strat.
