Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Open up the little port in the back. It's likely the switch is just dirty or worn. Cause of 99% of pickups issues on a UKII. Also, if it has the little series/parallel switches on the bezels, those could be the issue as well, not often, but once in awhile. A can of Tuner Cleaner from Radio Shack will reveal all.
I have actually never heard of a UKII pickup going bad. I'm sure they must have, just never had a bad one come across my bench.
One more place, is open the other panel and check the wiring and clean the pots. As there are separate vol and tone for each pickup, this is worth checking out also and of course the jack...
Speaking of the Jack... if you plug a mono cable into the stereo jack... you'll only get one pickup. |

Location: WNC-God's Country | No cracks near the neck...I'd say this one is an 8.5 out of 10...It surely needed some cleaning before it was shipped but other than that it's all good...After cleaning the pots and a little general surgery, all is well. Thanks Miles..
