This is a limited-time, first-come first-served offer. I am offering my beloved Adamas 1187 #47 Reissue (Serial #66) for $2500.00. The guitar is in absolutely pristine like-new shape, complete with Ovation hardshell case. I got it from a dealer who got it straight from Ovation, and the dealer never played it.

I hate to let it go that cheap, but I need the cash and in this tight economy I have to price it to move. This opportunity may not come again!

Terms: Cash or equivalent. No PayPal. If you pay by check, the check must clear before I ship. No holds, no trades, no partial payments. United States only. (No offense intended to my friends in the UK and elsewhere; I just don't want to deal with customs.)

$2500.00 is the first, last, best, and final price. If I can't sell it at this price, I'm going to give up and hang on to it until the economy improves -- which means that this guitar will disappear for many years if it doesn't sell now.

You can see a picture here: Adamas 1187

I will send higher-resolution pictures to anyone who is interested.

My compliments on a concise, "no bulshit" ForSale listing. (personally, I think that any listing that contains "best offer" in lieu of a concrete PRICE should automatically get booted).

GreatPrice on a GreatGuitar!!!

With respect, at that price if you offered it to European buyers you might get a sale, even with the current exchange rate. It's not you who has to deal with customs, it's the buyer. The only thing you have to do is slap on a Customs form stating the value.

Well, I hope so. It pains me to sell it at all. :(

Anyway, at least I have my other Ovation to soothe my pain until such a time as I can afford to dip my toes in the higher end of Ovation's product line again....

That's true.... I'm still leery about dealing with foreign buyers (been burned before), but if a serious buyer outside the US is interested, contact me via e-mail and we can talk about it.

Chances are that a european buyer from this board is gonna be pretty well know by at least some of us. I've sold 6-8 guitars to members in europe and it's absolutely no issue. PayPal or Wire Transfer are your friend and shipping is no problem at all. Buyer gets stuck with some taxes and duties, but that's not your problem. Anyway, good luck with the sale.

That is a steal on this guitar! I only wish I had the funds freed up to get it. Best of luck with it. Povation, where are you??

It pains me that you have to sell it almost as much as it pains me that I haven't bought it already. Yesterday I thought I'd be in the doghouse over a $130 guitar. This one would be a "sorry honey about that trip to Germany, but I just spent the money on a guitar" deal. I wouldn't even get the doghouse.
Povation might have actually maxed out on #47s.

Mark,

They are doing some amazing things with Dog Houses these days. Trust me, I know from experience. Check THIS out. I went for the optional humidity control system to take care of the guitars. Also keeps the dogs nose nice an shiny. We got the webcam option so the wife can see how bad she's "punishing" me. She hasn't figured out yet that I LIKE being out there.

Three to France, Three to England, One to Ireland, One to Belgium and One to Chile' via a Pilot in Florida.

Right now I have two enroute to san Francisco but the yellow brick road from here to Portland is underwater for the time being...

The ones going to Australia are the most difficult, you have to snap their necks first!

Dave, those doghouses would cost more than the guitar, so she'd just kick me out into the street.

Hey TJ,

I'm impressed that your "inventory" has stabilised enough for you to be able to list it in your signature. Must be a lot of work to maintain it.

AJ (if you're watching), a nice red slothead would look good next to your blue slothead.

well thats good then Jim, Beal's picking up your last of the USA Balladeers, '08 2771-lx-4 at G8rDos it will be in Amelia waiting on you.... along with the book.... hopefully all in attendance at Serge's will sign it for you as well...

I don't think I'll be able to attend, but will be close by for a couple of weeks.. and iffy gets his Shen 60 and tripod, and the west coasters get some long overdue items... sorry, been distracted a little lately..... Char's surgery is the Wed before G8rDos...at Shands where Serge works.. she'll probably still be in CICU thru the weekend at least, and inpatient for about 2 weeks...if all goes well... and it will.

Thanks for the prayers and well wishes...

and thanks for the patience..

Glenn, that has to be the understatement of the year! It's hard for me to comprehend how you can still function with all the issues you've been dealing with.

Glad you could drop in. Looking forward to catching up with ya up yonder in Gator land. Ya'll are still in my prayers!

Glenn,

+1 on Iffy's comments. I hope Char's condition improves (or at least stabilises).

AJ, The way I see it you have two hands, Deb has two hands, and some cheapos can go in the hold. Looking forward to checking out the plunder. Don't forget the Tim Tams and the Vegemite. "You can't have a Tim Tam until you eat your Vegemite".

The sale has gone through and the buyer has paid. I'll be shipping out the guitar later this morning. (*Sniff.* :( )

Thanks to all who responded. Just goes to show that Ovation owners are pure class all around. It goes hard to sell my 47, but at least I know it's going to a good home.
