Anybody got a case for a Viper for sale? If not, does anybody know if a Les Paul type case (SKB or one of the many plastic ones) will work? Thanks.

I can double check tonight, but near as I recall, the LP is a good inch or more shorter than the Ovation solid body models. The new VXT and the EA Vipers are also wider in the body than an LP and their cases are definietly not interchangeable. I don't remember if the older Vipers also have bigger bodies, but I'm pretty sure on the length. Ovation solids (and the EA Vipers) tend to run about 40-1/2" in length, which prevent them from fitting into most universal electric cases. I'll confirm this tonight.

Thank you ProfessorBB, I would appreciate that. Where do all of the original O cases go?

Keep an eye on Fleabay they come up now and again.
Sometimes there are Vipers with case that sell cheaply. Buy one and resell the guitar.
You might end up with a case for not a lot of nett outlay.

A good case is worth around $75

I'd also check with Al and Miles.

Here are the length measurements:
LP Standard - 39"
Preacher and UKii - 39" and a smidgeon
Viper and VXT - Over 40"

Width measurements (widest part of the body):
VXT - about 14-1/2"
All others, including the LP, just under 13"
