Not much on the web about this guitar. Made in Japan in 1984-85.
This is a great quality straight ahead electric with no gimmicks. Comes with a generic gig bag $300 plus shipping

Is that a set-neck? Hard to tell from the photo.

A lot of the guitars that came from Japan in that time frame are such great guitars (I'm sure some crap too), but A lot of as you stated, no frills, just straight forward, well built guitars.

I used to watch these all the time on eBay (but now I'm obsessed with c. 1981 Arias). $300 is a reasonable price for one in good condition and this sunburst(?) is not a common color.

Did you also post this at takamineforum.com?

These are great guitars. I almost bought one back in the early 80's but bought the Preacher instead (then traded the Preacher for the UKII).

If I had the $, I be considering this one for sure.

GX-200 = Setneck
GX-200T = Setneck with Trem
GX-200B = Thru neck
GX-200BT = Thru neck with trem

I've got three of these, nice guitars.

I've had at least one of each model number of the early TAKS...the 100, 200, 300 series and for the money I thought they all kicked major ass!
