This is a great quality straight ahead electric with no gimmicks. Hard to tell from the photo. A lot of the guitars that came from Japan in that time frame are such great guitars (I'm sure some crap too), but A lot of as you stated, no frills, just straight forward, well built guitars. I almost bought one back in the early 80's but bought the Preacher instead (then traded the Preacher for the UKII). If I had the $, I be considering this one for sure.
