Location: Winston-Salem, NC | Would anyone be interested in my 2005 Collector's? As-new condition, with case and all paperwork.
I'd like to trade for a 1581, or would also like to sell for $800.

Price is also more than fair. |

Location: Maryland | Yes you did but the statement is very general
from looking on the ovation web page which is confusing they have different necks and wood types and many bells and whistles, I wanted to hear more opinions to help decide on which model is for me
so I guess what you are saying is they will play and sound the same they just look different
i also am a bit nervous when purchasing the first year model of a new design which is the contour bowl in this case. I am in the auto industry so this is where I get this from and did not know if it was an issue or not on the guitars |

Location: SoCal | Look, both guitars are X braced. Both have the deep contour bowl. The wood on the '05 is nicer (I think), but it's not going to make a huge difference. Both have the LX neck bracing system. You shouldn't have any problem with the neck. Both have the OP preamps. I don't know what's in the 2077LX (or whatever the model number is). Personally, I like the OP Pro, but that's a personal opinion.
They are going to sound very very similar with the differences only different guitars have, even within the same model.
One's got more bling. The other is understated elegance. Personally, I'd go with the 05, but it's just a personal choice, based on money and what you like.

I've played both, they are very similar sounding and feeling guitars. In this case, it actually does come down to aesthetics if the price is the same. The look of the 05C is more unique since it was a limited run, and it looks quite elegant. On the other hand, the 2077LX is a fine looking instrument as well. You'll be pleased with either one. |

I'd really like to trade for an Adamas (mainly for a W597 or 1581), perhaps plus a little cash. |
