Location: Phoenix AZ | I've made no bones about the fact that the Takamine 2009 LTD is my #1 main go to machine. I just freaking love everything about this guitar. In fact love it so much that I somehow ended up with TWO of them !!!
That would be greedy, so time to make someone else very happy. I bought this brand new in March from Lost Art Vintage. It is drop dead mint, perfect, not a mark on it. It's never left my house. Case is spotless, all case candy included, etc. As clean as clean could be.

Like I said, this is ONE fine instrument and my main axe. But hard to justify having two of them. You won't find a better wooden box guitar for this price. The acoustic tone is clear and powerful and the set up plays like butter. Plug it in and WOW. There is no better system than the CoolTube. Case is a super nice Gieb style, also in new condition.
Bonus - you don't have to plug the damn thing in to use the tuner !!!

Location: Phoenix AZ | I think they are still being made (I got my second one last week). I don't recall exactly but I think they usually make around 750-1000 of the LTDs each year. Maybe less this year due to the economy. They are not numbered sequentially so it's hard to say. My serial number (date) is something like February. |

2009 Tak Ltd Ed FS
I'm looking forward to solving two "holes" in my collection at once: A Tak and a Mahogany body guitar...scalloped bracing, CoolTube Electronic's, and fantastic vintage looks combine for a great package...yeah, I'm jazzed...I only PM'd Dave 4 times...lol

Here's a photo of the two together. The one shipping to Mike is one the left. The one on the right looks darker in the photo but it's just the angle. They are exactly the same shade. Only difference is that the one on the right had to be ordered minus the pickguard. You can't just "peel it off" as it is a multi layer mylar. Not sure if I will leave it sans PG or not. I bought a collings Dalmatian PG for it just in case. It's also upgraded to Waverly tuners, but that's done by my local luthier. The stock Gotoh's are perfectly fine, I just prefer the Wav's. The headstock holes are too big, need to be doweled and redrilled. Was not comfortable doing that myself. Hey guess what? Both guitars sound identical ...

Yes, Dave, it was very good for somebody: today FedEx delivered it to my door...it's a long story: I bought one of these from Dave several months back...soon after I found out about that mint Ovation 1987 Collector that was available and I wanted desperatly to get it for my collection. Willa had been interested in the first Tak that Dave sold me and I sold it to her which fiananced the '87...but I did not want to be without a 2009 Ltd Ed as I simply fell in love with the way it records, plays, and its beauty...I saw this guitar and called the owner. He understood what I was doing and held the guitar for me as I waited to do the transaction...Everything worked out and today I received the new 2009...w/the addition of a Tri Ax pup in the sound hole...it is in dead mint condition w/all the case candy and unsigned warrenty...So all's well that ends well...these are fabulous guitars and this one is not going anywhere: seriously...Thanks so much pOwerpOpper for a class act transaction! Now, back into the recording studio... |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Yes, it's identical to the first one with the exception of the added Tri-Ax pickup in the soundhile...a very nice addition...I really like this guitar...I played it until early this AM before finally giving up and going to sleep...it has the coolest, balenced tone...and the mini jumbo shape (Tak calls it NEX) is confortable and surprisingly playable...I wish they made this in a 12 string model...
