I have an Ovation Adamas II. Made in USA. No. 3619 with another sideways number 1681-8 both handwritten inside the bowl. Blue glitter top with gold hardware. Good condition for its age, but some fretboard wear and general mild tarnish on the gold hardware and silver stereo outputs. Comes with original case with some light scratches. Plays very well. I am the second owner and it has mostly hung on the wall or been played on the couch.
Thanks |

However, I might could forgive ya if you were a loud singing bass guitarist...
I visit Big Pine Key periodically. Maybe we could 'hook' up for a 'O'ff Key jam. |

What does the "sideways" number mean? 1681-8. Or is that the serial number and then what is 3619 if not the serial number?
Sorry for the stupid questions.
Oh, stop by the Looe Key Tiki Bar South of Big Pine Key for open mic night on Tuesdays. I am the big mouth bass player.
Sorry, no pics yet, but maybe tomorrow. Got to get to bed early if ya want to catch the really big basses.
Thanks everybody. |

1681 is the model number. -8 is the top color designation. 3619 is the serial number. (My 1681 is only 59 guitars younger FWIW.) |

The 'pack' has been fairly docile thus far. But if you want to sell it here, ya might want to go ahead and post a price and some pics.

I used to be a Po-Leece in Florida and I've still got pals down there (If ya know what I mean like surveilance, Po-Leece harassment, tickets a few time a week...).
I want an Addamas so here's what I'll do.
I'll let you sell it to me real cheap and I'll even pay shipping.
I may be in Iraq but I gots LOOOONG arms (as in long arm of the Po-Leece).
Think it over...
Ohh wait, is that a Monroe County Sheriff's Office patrol car behind you?
TEE HEE, TEE HEE
Seriously, post some pics and these vultures (intended in the most flattering sense of course, we really do have a great bunch of people here and you've got their mouths watering) will snap it up.

First, of course it's for sale. Just by READING the first entry of this thread, it starts with "For Sale."
How much? I said "bring offers" but for those that need somewhere to start (I've already admitted that I am new and that I don't know what it is worth, no need to keep making me feel stupid/unwelcome, thank you) and since I know nothing of what it is worth, we will say, "$2,000." Just throwing out a figure to get things started. Let's assume that I will pay the shipping. UPS Ground and packed well. Paypal, cashiers check, cleared personal check, AMX, or come and get it.
Now, pictures.
Since it isn't as easy as I had hoped to post pics, please follow these simple steps.
Go to my website: www.keywestfishtales.com
Click on the "Captains' Blog" on the toolbar at the top.
View pics of this guitar.
Sorry if I seem stressed. But, I do feel, with a couple of wonderful exceptions, not too welcomed. Originally, I was encouraged by one of your own to sell this guitar here instead of on eBay because of the "family" aptmosphere... And it does exactly seem like family... I hope Uncle Ed doesn't follow me in the bathroom like the old days.
Thank you all. |

Don't mean to make you feel unwelcome. Just frustrating if I'm sitting here writing out the check and don't know how much to make it out for.
Thanks, and WELCOME !!! |

We've been telling them, but maybe a sticky at the top of the for sale page telling people the rules might be a good idea. Might save us all some frustration, and also hurt feelings on the part of the new members. Just a thought. |

If you think about I'm sure you agree with dave that you dont auction off your guitar to the highest bidder in OFC, if your just uncertain on what its worth than maybe start the thread that way or if it was me i would of gotten am opinion from people who you can trust like iffy, or musicmishka, garyb, BT717, and others. Regardless I wish you the best on the sale of your guitar, however must agree auctions are simply not what i would want to see on this site... save it for EBAY |

BUT, and it's a big butt,... don't come in here cutting people for their opinions. You want to sell a guitar, post a price you want for it. If you don't know what to ask, check recent sales on Ebay and go from there. If you want to post a pic, just ask and someone here will be more than glad to help out. (me included) Here's your pics...Oh, and welcome.

Location: South of most, North of few | OK John, there is a mammal called a dolphin that breaths air and swims in our local waters which is what you are familiar with. There is also a FISH called DOLPHIN (by most people in the South) that usually hunts the weed lines in schools when young and in pairs when mature, offshore around the Keys and East coast of Florida amongst other areas, and is prized for it's flavor also known as Mahi Mahi in restaurants that charge way too much for it. Honest. Ask anyone who has fished the Keys what a dolphin is and they will most likely show you a picture of the fish, not Flipper. |

First of all, as I said before, welcome (again)! Would enjoy hookin' up with ya down in my fantasy playground, seriously.
Second, I tried to warn ya. Post pics and an asking price. Run it up the flag pole and see if anyone $alute$. All ya have to do is to decline any offers ya don't accept.
Last, this 'family' is the greatest group of humanity I've encountered since my military service! We're not here to slash and bash. We're here due to a common affection for Kaman guitars.
In fact, thanx to this site, I'm privileged to have met the most caring, knowledgeable, charitable and, in my case, forgiving group in my experiences (only 62 yo).
So please understand, we give our advice and even the mild admonitions as a hand, not a back hand.
OK? Now, what do I need to fork over for your fine Adamas?
Day-um Jim, you're sure 'expanded' my horizons (in more ways than one)!
Oh, BTW, don't get me started on the dolphin vs. mahi-mahi vs. porpoise issue... |

In the Pacific, they are called, "Mahi-Mahi."
The rest of the World calls them "Dorado."
And in the unique State of Florida, they are reffered to as "Dolphin."
They are all in the "fish" family.
You don't hunt for Blue Marlin and you don't fish for Rabbits.
As far as the guitar goes. Make the check out for $2,000 and I will pay for shipping. If you feel that is too much, make me an offer (assuming that that is legal). If you found my wbsite, you have found my phone number too. Call for address and we can work out the details.
A SINCERE THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR INPUT, EXPERTISE, ADVISE, AND HUMOR. :)

To make sure I wasn't hallucinating, I went back into my email and the pictures you sent of playing it in front of the festival crowd back in January match the guy on your website.
The guitar you're selling now must be the Adamas you talked abut having when we did the deal to on the DS768. I thought you were going to hang onto that guitar forever. ;) I hope you don't mind, but let me also show the folks here another picture of the Adamas for sale ... this time with you backing up a real rock star.
You gotta cut the folks here a little break ... it was a full moon after all and the collective werewolf mentality has been in full bloom around here lately. You're not the only one who didn't exactly "feel the love" recently. But you're definitely among friends here who are passionate about the brand and the people who love Ovation and Adamas ... even though they have an odd way of expressing it sometimes.
Anyway, good luck with the sale. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

I tried not to get you involved or injure your OFC reputation, but it seems you have thrown yourself into the mix :)
I LOVE the Longneck! (I bought the Longneck from Bob, from this site, about a year ago and the first pic is from our annual Key West Seafood Festival-around 8K people!) It's now the one that I'll never sell... Before, it was the blue one :) I reserve the right to change my mind, afterall, I am a guitar collector :)
I didn't include the photo of my son, "Little Zach Nasty" just as to not get upstaged. But, you found it. We were playing a benefit at the Hurricane Hole Bar doing our New Jersey/Country Music Salute, Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive" to a packed house with the Adamas ringing out the opening riff just like Richie would have played it...
Bobbo, thanks so much and thanks for the great lead to these chosen few individuals (OFC). It is indeed a small world... but, I wouldn't want to paint it! |

Just to be clear... If that's possible...
The Longneck is NOT for sale.
The Adamas IS for sale.
And, the Hamer B12A (some of you spotted in the background) IS for sale. Perfect condition with case. I will probably want $1,850 for it. It can also be viewed on www.12stringbass.net alongside my Hiroshigi 12 string bass where we compare the "Dragon" to other 12'vers.
So, now that everyone is extremely confused, have a great Labor Day :) |

I have yet to see an instrument not go on Ebay, with exception of the ones that are way over priced.(make sure you have GOOD pictures) I believe your reserve price is fair, and who knows? ... you may get a bidding war that ends up driving your price higher. When they sell high, I belive it is good for future sales. That is unless you are a buyer. |
