Nice offering Sam! and it would be so worth it.
I might have to move out 4 of my Adamas but with #57 would you ever play any others?
There is a reason Cliff never buys any extra guitars! |

Any chance you need a 200 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab pickup with a V6 and a lumber rack? I'll throw in a kayak or two?
I'm surprised #57 hasn't gone down under yet! |

Look, Explaining it afterwards is always tougher BUT you do end up with the guitar right? How is discussion in advance possibly going to lead to anything good?
Here's my motto: Any guitar that my wife would pre-approve of me buying is probably not a guitar I would want to own.
Buy now, 'splain later ... |

Cécile (my girlfriend) told me: "if you want it, just buy it.."!!
But I will be in my new house in 6 days and I have to pay my banker for the next 15 years.
Good luck with your sale Sam, you can't imagine how much I regret to not be able to buy it!!
Just not the good timing...

Seriously, I wish I could "freeze" my slothead sound right now, and then come back in 30 years and compare the OFC I to it. It doesn't sound as good as a real slothead now, but it's starting with a 30 year disadvantage. |

LOL! OK; you are right; I'm wrong ... you are being VERY responsible, and I am certain you have enough guitars after all ... as I think Damon says, how many guitars are enough? Just one more. And for those of you who have suggested that I DON'T play mine, you are wrong! I DO! ALL of them, because they get lonely! I can't play like MM or G8r, but ... ah, nevermind!

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Randy, yes it is bitter sweet selling #57.It is the best sounding adamas i have ever played. My opinion..I have owned 3 original slotheads, played three more and played many other regular adamas models. This one has it!! Having said that it is not the best sounding guitar i have ever played. The tone of a pre war D-28 herringbone is still burned in my head along with these three that i own.So yes it is bitter sweet but im still left with some pretty nice guitars to drown my sorrow..
My custom M-42( 0000-42) slothead with amberburst finish
My Goodall, with abalone bound body.Flame Koa binding.

| Hey Sam, Drop in a post a shot of your collection anytime I love looking at those amazing guitars.
I was a day late and a dollar short on this one for sure. That wood body Adamas you built is about the neatest dam guitar ever made BTW.

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Randy, the wood body adamas is not only a beautiful guitar to look at but simply sounds amazing..I know Ovation(kaman) has the ability to actually build wood guitars. They have the knowledge and resources with takamine and Guild to pull off a adamas style multi-soundhole guitar made of all wood and im sure it would be incredible..Having said that i dont think they will ever do it. They are committed to the plastic back. |

| I been carving and building with wood for 30 years now Sam, Wanna go into the Guitar building business Sam? I think that's a hell of an idea. It would be one hell of a surprise to the Plastic Bowl Snobs to make a wood body that sounds great.
I always thought that shaping the laminated wood blanks into the roundback design would be the perfect union to an Adamas Carbon Fiber Top.
Once you get a Machine or two tooled up to do the high speed cutting and sanding, the assembly line process should make the creation of the wood blanks from wood already cut to a basic size and glued up in presses cheap enough to do as a production guitar.
I know it would give me horrible GAS to have an Adamas Top (old school) non of the Q crap, married to a beautiful round bowl made from wood. it would still be very durable and if cut correctly it might be lighter weight than the current bowls.
Ahhhhh to dream........ |

And as far as Martins go.....hard to beat a 42 anything and that amberburst is a real beauty. I just love my flamed myrtle OM42. |
