Welcome Shiloh! Allways thought that was one kewl looking guitar. Good luck!!

There are a few OFC members in Fl that have OFC gatherings during the year. You should try to go to one!!

Shiloh,

Welcome to the Ovation Asylum!

I've always loved the looks of this git! Now, if it was a deep bowl, it'd be 'poof'...

Keep an eye out for 'G8r Bowl III' jam up in your area in early '10.

Plus, it's been known that some 'spontaneous' gatherings occur over here on the 'Sun Coast' at times!

Nice way to welcome a new member trying to sell a desirable Ovation...

If it was a deep bowl or a mid contour, this puppy would be mine! I sure do like the motif...

Shiloh, hopefully someone here that appreciates and enjoys shallow bowls will adopt your fine Ovation!

Maybe you can give us some lessons how to welcome a new member who registers to the forum today for the sole purpose of selling their guitar in their very first posting. Even telephone solicitors engage you in some small talk before launching their sales pitch.

Lessons?!?!? How 'bout common 'OFC' courtesy and the expansion of the Ovation Fan Club membership?

The new member posted pics and a price as appreciated by the membership here and mandatory by most.

What's your gripe now? Don't like my posts? Then just don't click on the threads that have my nomer in the 'Last Reply' column.

BTW, why not 'contribute' your wisdom with your real OFC nomer? What...?

I'm assuming from the photos that these 16 fret guitars fit in a standard case.

Is that right?

16 frets with a SSB. I may have to take a long look at one of these.

For what it's worth, I can attest to how nice these things sound
Even with a super-shallow bowl, mine is very clean and powerful, obviously not like a deep bowl, but pretty stout.

Just out of curiosity, what is this one's serial number?

I don't want to get into a pissing war, but I agree with 3 over 2 (nothing personal, Shiloh, good luck with your sale).

Forplay is not a bad thing.

Let's not get into attaching significance to the number of postings made. Otherwise, almost everybody here will have to take a backseat to me (over 12,000 vs. 1100 Alison?). Number of postings is secondary to a valid point......

Rereading it I think Suspects dig was at Iffy, not Siloh. But what the hell 3 on 4600 could be an intersting tug of war.

Hey Moody speaking of backseat I can see you in the rear view mirror ... not that I'm proud of it.

I guess newbies should only try to sell Taylor's on an Ovation site...Seeing that that they wouldn't know any better...give me a break...

Maybe with a bit of hospitably they might get beyond 2 posts...

WELCOME SHILOH! Nice guitar, best wishes with the sale...stick around, most here are harmless...some have even had their shots...lol

I think The Usual Suspects is someone who has spent a lot of time around here, and know that there have been way too many drive-bys of people who come here just to unload their guitars, sometimes leaving behind a trail of tears because of less than honorable dealings. This for sale board is supposed to be a place where regulars can post up for buying selling and trading. Here's what it has always said in the general rules for this forum:

This are is NOT intended as a "classifieds" section, but more like the bulletin board of your local music hangout where you can buy, sell or trade gear.
People who buy from a newbie do so at their own risk, but then dastardly deeds always come back and reflect poorly on the general membership here.

Caveat emptor.

Wow i really didn't think it was going to be this big a deal posting an Ovation guitar on a web-site for Ovation guitars lol
i buy and sell guitars all the time, this is my first and i hope not last Ovation, i had this guitar on another web-site and i didn't get too many offers, then someone FROM HERE told me about this place and said to post my guitar for sell on here. They didn't tell me to become friends or post on other people topics before i post my guitar for sell? So sorry if i offended anyone, i'm just trying to sell or trade my guitar. :(

Shiloh, just ask the member to give you a reference if possible. That will give the potential buyer some comfort. I bought my 87 Collector from a newbie who was referred by one of the old guard. No regrets. I got exactly what was advertised.
I noticed on the Hamer board they recommended against advertising until you had 10 posts. I had trouble coming up with 10 things I wanted to talk about over there, but lucked onto someone wanting a Duotone and he bought mine.

Hi, Shiloh;
If I lived closer and could come over for a chat and try her out, I surely would, just to have had the experience of playing her. I have an ssb Custom Elite and really like the thinner ones; if I were in the market for one right now, I'd be looking at yours, too. So, please accept a warm welcome from one of the board's "female-folk."
There is a lot of truth in the previous posts, but not's not your fault. Stick around, and become one of the "gang;" you'll learn more here about Ovations than you ever suspected you could know, and enough about other guitars to help you with them, too--and you'll gain a little credibility, which never hurt anyone. Sometimes this place can be a little like "Grumpy Old Men" (and maybe they'll insist "The Devil Wears Prada"), but that's what makes life here "interesting." ;) :D
