Location: SoCal | It's not a book elite. It's an 87 Collectors. And no, hadn't seen it before.... |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Outies are gay, and the 87 preamp is just fine. (At least I thought it was when I last plugged it in a couple years ago.)
OK, I admit I still kick myself for not buying Miles' Book last year. |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | GREAT PRICE!
No way would I sell mine for anywhere near that! (Come to think of it, I have no intention of selling mine at all.)
Who got it? |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I never thought it would go for that price. When I first played Miles' Book, I liked the looks of the 87 better, but then decided it would be nice to have both. Then the little voice in my head told me that the big voice that is SWMBO would kill me. The 87 will be out the door in 2012 for my daughter's 25th birthday, then maybe I'll get a Book to replace it. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I just meant sad because it's yet another example of how shitty high end ovations hold their value compared to other brands which only further reinforces the stigma that Ovation isn't really in the same league as those other players. Sure it's great for the buy and someone got oneof Ovations very, very best ever guitars at a smoking deal. But what they got was an $800. guitar. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | We can only hope that someday they will regain their reputation with the mainstream, but for now I'm still enjoying mine and making converts as I let others play mine. I still look at the guitar as being a $3465 guitar that someone got lucky on. I guess it's the old glass half full/empty adage. On the other hand, I look at a Taylor that sells for over $4,000 as an $800 guitar, so who am I anyway, but just another opinion. (: I'm ecstatic about being able to have the Ovations that I have owned, and market prices will never change that. That's why I'm here... I have Ovation running through my veins. |

The list on this '87 C was $1800 in 1987...
Still a smoking deal for $800...
And yes, it's crazy...
Dweez, after this one, I'm not holding my breath for you to get an '87C... |

Location: SoCal | The only way to look at Ovation aftermarket prices is to laugh your head off on what a great deal you're getting and the other person is giving up. You're getting a guitar, dirt cheap, that competes with other guitars that sell for 3 times the price.
Who's the chump? |
