Location: south east Michigan | There I was at the music store. A 30th on my left, and AD-II on my right. Which one to go with?? I went for the AD-II. Three years ago it was an easy choice but right now I can't seem to remember the reasons.
The 30th is an amazing combination if bling and boom.
It might have come down to something as simple as the ebony bridge on the AD-II. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Mine sounds great, but has about the worst action of any of my Ovations. That might have something to do with the good sound, but the long range plan is still to send it back for a refurb. Northcountry suggested that when I bought it from him and I should have taken him up on it. I figured I'd take it back or pick it up when I went on the next factory tour. But alas. |

T.J. what do you think about the action? |

Location: South of most, North of few | As good as any I have played. Nice and low and very easy to play (even for me) . It's amazing that the other anniversary came in with the same low action, just a different neck profile. If I were to play it more aggressively, I would probably add a shim. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I learned that they built the carved bridges "ambidextrous", so that the high e side was the same height as the low e side. This prevented me from taking out all the shims without the high e string buzzing on the bridge. Besides that, my neck still has a bit too much angle. Something I should have had corrected when it was back east, but I was anxious to get it and it was probably one of those times when I didn't want to get in any more trouble by spending more money on guitars. Like there will ever be a time when I won't be in the doghouse. |

I didn't notice this before, but even the tuner buttons line up when it's in tune.... |

Then again, it's possible I may be just a bit biased. :) |

The whole guitar looks classy. I wonder how long it took to put the abalone one that one? |
