Location: Utica, NY | I am currently in the market for a fairly current, decent, good playing, reasonably priced 12 string. SSB or Mid bowl preferred.
If you have something that I might consider e-mail me.
Thanks. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | That's your traditional Ovation lacquer crack. It's more visible on this model because of the white finish. It'll cause a $1200. guitar to sell for $400. Great deal. |

Location: SoCal | it is a 'major' finish crack - however, you could probably work some acrylic paint into the crack.
not sure if it has the same finish (catalyzed polyester as a top coat) - if so, with a little sanding and paint, it would be hard to see. |

The reason I ask is that I have near mint pre-Milessa 1598 SMT that could use more exercise than I provide. |

Willa I'd be willing to bet that "finish crack" goes all the way through to the other side of the wood. |

| The 1718-6P that I sold to Thierry(Guigite) in France had a similar finish only crack(definitely not top through) in the lower Bass side bout and I used a white furniture Scratch/Scuff stick(glorified crayon though harder wax) on it... ran it up and down the crack and then buffed off the excess... the crack is now almost invisible.

Location: Utica, NY | Thanks to all who have offered so far. I think I might have found me a Legend 1866. There are still some hurdles but should all go well it will be an interesting addition for me. From my archive searching it is highly regarded as SSB's go and one bit of advice said that if most of your playing is done live and standing up then it's the best way to go for a 12 and that's where it will be used the most. More when it arrives. |

Is that the one in Portland Ct?
If so, I went back and forth with him yesterday as he had a ton of wrong info on his original Ad. Be careful. Portland is about 35-40 mins from me, I might be able to help you a bit if need.

Bob No, not that one. This one is in Texas. But I do appreciate the heads up, and so will everyone else who may be looking at that one. Thanks for the offer to check it out as well. |

Thanks for the tip. |

Next question ??? I forgot to wear my official OFC sarcasm-detector glasses today, so I may have missed your meaning… does that mean that you bought it or that you are criticizing the excessive shipping fee? Even with a nearly 50% markup for shipping, it's worth that price, the crack can be repaired. So I guess congrats on the winning bid are in order? |

I didn't buy it but whoever did got a great deal. More people should listen to me and the world would be a better place for it. |

Adamas 1885 NB5 with OHSC and leather strap
Asking $1600 shipped, SSB, has the Optima preamp with tuner and notch. Action set exactly where I likes it and no concerns or issues aside from the tear stains I'll leave on it when I pack it. |
