Location: South of most, North of few | Nice jumbo body, maple back and sides with Engleman spruce top. Maple brightens the tone while the jumbo body adds bottom end. Great electronics package and optional Alvarez tweed hard case. (case has a very small nick in the covering on the top) 1 11/16 nut standard scale. I don't think this thing has more than 1 hour play on it. Great guitar for the $. Body's too big and the neck too narrow for me though. Taking a hit at 400.00 shipped conn US.

J/K Jimbo... we all love ya!
another great deal, fit and finish on those Alvarez' is usually awesome, and they play well, and sound good too... was lucky enough to play an old Yairi 12 which almost broke me away from O's... almost. was at the same time I had one of the Alvarez sb electrics..very nice guitar... but boy was it a brick around your shoulders.

That's the nicest complement I've ever had. :rolleyes:
This guitar really surprised me when I got it. You're right, great workmanship and sound, but the jumbo body is rather....uh...JUMBO. I paid over 500 for it, so I figured if it doesn't go for 400, I'll end up keeping it. |

Location: Florida Central Gulf Coast | After a couple of times playing and handling this git, including yesterday at the campgroud, here are a few personal observations;
The wood is absolutely stunning. Pics do not capture the shimmering grain pattern in the light.
The assembly is superb. Excellent craftsmanship.
The tonal qualities reminds me of the mojo filled CB I let Riccardo adopt. Just sweet and even...
The Alvarez does not fit TJs lap to armpit profile! That's why he buys dem lil' parlors... |

Location: Cicero, NY | This was one of the git's I was looking at a few year's ago. I thought it was a great guitar for the money (and it was going for a little bit more than what Jim's asking). This is a great deal. Good luck, TJ. |
